I've just bought one of these from my local Tesco store in Leeds. It seems their having a clearance on many items but this has got to be the cheapest PDA i've ever seen. Made by Palm (please see http://www.palm.com for full details) it can be used for many things. Making notes, Appointments, Games. It has a colour screen a 200mhz processor 32mb memory/20mb to store files, programs etc.

Cheapest i've seen these on price runner is £66.39 at dixons.

Please be kind as this is my first post.

Bargain!!!

Thanks for the heads up tyrone1980 :)

They dont stock this online and may only available @ selected stores.
#2
real good bargain at this price but i dun drive so what a pity i can't go to my local tesco to find out
#3
Great deal, hot. I need some type of organiser but will probably combine it with a phone, phones becoming more sophisticated ? same level as these organisers.
#4
Brilliant,
do you know if this has solitare on it and does it have a stylus? My mum loves solitare so I would get just for that alone.

Thanks
#5
spec show it does have a stylus.

can't find one in stores near me. gutted.
#6
is this leeds seacroft or leeds roundhay?

thanks
#7
nice little product and good price voted hot
#8
cheapest these were at Christmas were £85.

Most places £95-99.

Good find.
#9
Seriously, what can this do that my phone can't?
#10
My mobile phone is more powerful than this, and is half the weight.

Don't really see the benefit in low-end PDAs when you see what modern mobile phone technology has to offer.

Not voted.

did your mobile cost £25? moob.

Mine was actually £9.99 with £10 credit because of a blunder from orange. :)

No, it was free.

Regardless, most people have phones that perform better than this PDA, which was my point, in case you missed it.:whistling:

I check Palm.com and it comes with solitare.

and probably a stylus.

Aren't we forgetting the whole point of hotukdeals? This is a good deal, because anybody looking for the cheapest PDA, has found it.

If you want to spend £20 a month on a high end phone contract, that's your perogative. But this is still a good deal

No, it wasn't. It was on a 12 or 18-month contract. There's a definite difference. :whistling:
#17
Nice price & a great find
#18
If you think your contract phone was free then see how much they go for on ebay. I usually sell mine for about £200, paying for most of the years bills, then choose a sensibly priced phone from ebay to use myself.

IMO, what you'd get for the phone on ebay is the price you paid for your phone.

So, you know how much I pay for my contract phone?:whistling:

I used to be payg, but was spending 15 a month anyway, which is what I pay on my contract, with a free phone, with better spec that this pda...got me yet?

Nope, I'm not sure you are making sense still. Are you saying you were sent a free phone and you haven't had any financial commitment to the company since? If you can answer yes to that, then I will apologise.
#21
Yes but its got a large colour screen which makes it ideal for making notes. I've got a k800i which can do everything this pda does but the screens to small and is a bit of a nightmare entering lots of text on the keypad. ALthough i would need to carry around yet another charger........*sigh*
#22
Does anyone know if any Tescos in the Glasgow area have them?
I've tried Sringburn and Polloksheilds and they didn't have any PDA at all and they are big Tesco Extra stores.
Great price for this but I'm gutted that I can't find one

Free would be if you could get it for nothing - you have to pay 180 pounds :-)

Ok, i found specifications here: http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=9,E=0000000000693913968,K=9479,Sxi=15,Question=obj(43852):obj(43958)

I don't get if you you can use it as a phone - to make calls I mean?.. Can anyone help? I noticed, you can use some others as sat navs. Is this one capable of it as well?

Thank you for any info :)))

I'm sure you can use it as a sat nav, I know Navman made receiver units for many Palms to convert them into sat navs.

I made the same financial commitment that I always had prior to engaging in the contract, so it makes no difference...
#27
Voted hot as is a good buy if you want/need this.

I bought a refurb on ebay at the start of the year (for this price) and found I like the idea of it more than the product! So flogged it a week later for the same price!!

You are clearly clutching at straws. You were on PAYG previously so had no commitment whatsoever, you could have stopped at any time without financial penalty. Try stopping your £15/mth 18 month CONTRACT and see what happens. Conclusion: You didn't get a free phone, no apology required from me.

Emmm, I didn't know this was a contest, and I wasn't demanding any kind of apology...

I've already said I used to spend £15 on calls/texts every month, in fact, sometimes it was more, so I made the change to a contact as it made financial sense. Getting the free phone helped, obviously, and I maintain it was free due to the aforementioned explanation.

Carry on with this 'debate' if you feel the need, I'm done.

Well you didn't know that it was a contest but you are continuing it. :?
Replying to it doesn't stop it.

I'm not against any of you, just this interesting real life situation caught my eye... :giggle:

It's a bargain if you desire a PDA, indeed as a PDA it will beat out the functions on most phones, and it's a bit nicer than Windows Mobile / Pocket PC.

However it's ugly (to me), low-res screen, and I can't see if it has Bluetooth so you could use it with your phone for mobile web browsing / email / Google Maps, etc.

It's a bargain price though, and there's so much free Palm software out there. Use it for timekeeping (if you do contract work), or a fancy clock, or a shopping list. There's no competition with any phone that doesn't have a touch screen interface if you actually use the PDA functions.

yes, it has got bluetooth: http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=9,E=0000000000693913968,K=9479,Sxi=15,Question=obj(43852):obj(43958)

is it possible to make calls with it??
#33
Arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics...
#34
This is *PERFECT* for reading ebooks.

Beats the **** out of lugging around a suitcase full of dead wood.
#35
You cant make calls with it, its a PDA. Nice find, now i need to find a tescos that has these in stock
#36
You sure it has Bluetooth?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Palm-1048ML-Z22-Handheld-PDA/dp/tech-data/B000BKDP4C/ref=de_a_smtd/203-8264997-3116724

It says it has infra-red. I haven't been able to find a single thing online saying it has Bluetooth.
#37
Don't think it has bluetooth either, is not mentioned in the specifications on Palm's website (http://www.palm.com/us/products/handhelds/z22/specs.epl). Does anyone know if it would be possible to connect a gps receiver to this?
#38
If by 'area of inquiry' on this page they mean 'description' of the unit, then it has bluetooth. But I ain't quite sure...

My sentiment exactly... Only the people stating that you DO pay in the long run are right... Nothing is truly free anymore.

This whole debate could well be made into another thread and quite possibly blow HUKD's servers:p

OK... You're still paying what you would normally pay for your phone and getting a nice new handset thrown in. The fact remains however... You ARE PAYING!

So it stops here? Or make a new thread!!!!
