great price for D/skinned

still a pain to put down though so if going to a festival make sure you practice putting it down while sober
watched a guy for 1/2 an hour try and put his down after download on the morning
I was busy else where but when i was free i went over and put it down for him in about 2 mins
easy when you know the technique but a pain when you dont

So whats the technic in putting it down then? !! My lad wants to go camping with his dad...will it be a nightmare? Thanks

The Technique is different for each one, all pop up tents are tricky to begin with but "Practice Makes Perfect"

With my daughter's you have to kind of twist it and fold it in half all at the same time. I know its a bit sad, but we found a video on t'internet that showed you how to do it - didnt half save some time (and a teenage temper tantrum) :-D

I must admit ive left a few tents at festivals due to the fact i just couldnt be bothered dealing with the tent :)
#11
so would it fit a single person airbed inside ? like a standard argos airbed.

also how good is it with rain ?

Ditto. Along with everything else bar the car keys, wallet and mobile.

I'm not sure if its true, but I heard a rumour one year that all the tents left behind after Oxygen in Ireland were shipped off to the third world for use in refugee camps. Would be nice if it were true

I am the OP, I received mine today (Ordered Weds) and its up in the garden, Nice little tent, takes 5 mins to put up including pegging the ground sheet and guy lines. Its 127cm wide so will EASILY accomodate a single airbed, my double airbeds are 140cm wide so its a little narrow for a double, I'd say its pretty comfortable for 2 people on sleeping mats. As per your other question it should be fine with rain, it has an inner tent and an outer 2000mm waterproof flysheet, when inside the tent the roof is actually a mesh so you can see the outer tent, this means that all the air from inside goes via the cavity and out the bottom. Like any tent of this nature its really a 1 Man + Gear or 2 Man without gear but is prob best pop up tent @ this price.

thanks for that mate ;)

im actually looking for a decent tent now for sonisphere festival end of july. i still have one, that I had at download festival last year, but it takes too long to put it up and I can't be asked :P

I used this one at Download Festival last week it is very good to use no condensation due to the ventilation being so well thought out & it survived torrential rain on the sunday as well.
Festivalwise it is good as a 1 man tent & your camping gear their is a 3 man version on the website as well which is suitable for 2 people & gear.
I can't see how people have a problem getting it packed away as I managed to do it first time in less than a minute.

The 3 man version

2000mm Hydrostatic Head

Quick Erection !

Oooooooooo Errrrrrrrr Misssssus!!!!

2000HH is fine for anything in a UK summer in a double skin tent. The main problem is water coming upwards from the ground if you get prolonged rain, but unless you were stuck at a festival - you would not camp out in rain anywhere near that strength. Even a far lower HH in a double skin is fine.

Shoving in an airbed that entirely fills the floor area is a bad bet if camping away rather than in your garden. When you lie on the bed - the dip you make lets everything else on the airbed slide down next to you - which is not the comfiest of things.

The best colour for camping is a dull colour. Flowers are bright for a reason - to attract insects. Bright tents do the same.

HH/Hydrostatic Head is a measure of how waterproof a material is. It is calculated as follows.

A bit of material is secured over the end of a clear pipe. The pipe is then filled with water until water goes through the material. The depth of water that takes is then measured in MM and that is the HH of the tent. So 2000 HH = the material would remain waterproof with the weight of 2 metres of water forcing down on it. HH is not always the best measure, as a high HH without taped seams, or with poor resistance to ground water, can make the HH figure irrelevant.

If you expect heavy rain and are not backpacking, or are camping on a stony beach - then taking a tarpaulin and folding it to the maximum size that will fit inside the pegs beneath the tent stops the floor feeling damp in even torrential rain, and stops sharp stones holing the floor.

Fine in rain and fine in wind, but in my experience, pop up tents are very unpleasant to be in when wind and rain combine. Twin skinned or not, they're just too bendy.

I went through Quidco and it has tracked at £2.04 - Therefore tent costing just over £18 if quidco validated - well chuffed. Thanks for posting
