Just one thought when buying a replacement ICE system : consider its power requirements/specification - it's not something I'd worried about until I swapped radio for first time for 30 years and got caught out...

In my car the power to the radio is ISO based but wired for PERMANENT on - ie you run the risk of leaving the radio on and the battery going flat, but equally occupants can listen with the key off/out.

Last month I bought an otherwise VERY good value (the almost all singing/dancing £40 Tevion from Aldi - just missing DAB & iPod control) BUT that REQUIRED a switched power supply as IMPLIED by the skimpy manual and 100% CONFIRMED by their helpline - as I found out after it had flattened my battery and made me late for a lunch.

I think 95%+ of cars DO have a switched power supply nowadays, but if your's is an unusual one like mine (and you dont fancy the hassle/cost of any fresh wiring) then SOME radios (maybe this offer one) MAY not be suitable. Just a thought!

Good find edi. If its gone down by half its even better. Im sure lots of people will nab this as people always complain car cd players down have ipod connections on here.
#7
sweet!

Voted hot

In most cars isn't the red wire for the permanent live and the yellow wire the live when the ignition is on?
Not sure that helps, but hey

Great find this, just ordered one for the girlfriend, she is about to get a new car with a cassette player. With ipod connection too and a decent rms output this will be an ideal solution! Thanks!

its funny you say that, i got a new radio on saturday, instead of switching it off i just popped the front off and thought nothing of it.... but it then switched itself back on when i opened the door! even tho the ignition was off and the front of the radio in my hand!!!

great deal, cant believe i spent 70 just this weekend on a new stereo when this would have done!

Hi

Yes you can use just a CD/Radio if you wish it is CD/ CDMP3/ CDWMA compatible

Can't access the site!?

Wow thought this seemed too good to be true!!!

I have ordered one, thank you very much.

I think the registration and payment detail pages need a little attention though, all the boxes were in the wrong places so took a couple of attempts!

Thanks again

Hi

Please keep trying we do not appear to have any technical issues although I have just tried to access and it is slower than usual due to current demand if you continue to have problems and want to order send me a PM and I will arrange something for you.

Thanks
[Holiday Pirates]#27
yeah it was pretty slow for me too, but not too bad. Keep trying xx

Does anyone have experience with 4 x 20W RMS power output? Doesn't seems much... had 4x45W so now thinking if it is gonna be enough...
#29
I needed a new car stereo thanx.
#30
Just read through the manual and says compatible with 3rd and 4th gen Ipods..Nothing about 5th or 6th gen or Ipod Nano or Touch so be careful incase this isn't compatible with those models..

This is an older model stereo thats why its cheap, so you may lose some funcionality with newer Ipods if they work at all..Just a warning..

Perhaps GoodmanDirect could elaborate further..
#31
Anybody know how easy these are to install? I have a Rover 25 (2001) and have been told that it is quite difficult!
#32
I am getting a security exception from the Goodmans site saying it is trying to modify my registry, anyone else getting this !
#33
Does it work with steering wheel controls? The stereo in my Picasso is on the blink, so a replacement would be nice.

The ISO connector is a standard that is in most cars these days. Should plug straight in. Worst case, you can get an adaptor specifically for your car that goes between the connector in the car and the stereo. These start at around £10 and are available from Halfords and all good car parts suppliers.

However, having said all that, from experience, you don't know what surprises you may get when you remove the old head unit!!!

It should be fine, I have plenty of old ipod accessories but they're generally backwards compatible with newer ipods.

I love this site.

I need to buy something, check Hot UK Deals, and bang, there it is at the top of the list, almost everytime.

Just looking for a decent price 26" or 32" TV for the bedroom, hmmm... Hannspree or Toshiba....

Voted hot. Also looking to install in a Rover 214, hopefully there'll be no problems doing so.
