This is a bargain! They had loads of fresh sandwiches, like chicken and sweetcorn in this meal deal. Admittidly, some of the bigger sandwiches are in a £2.99 meal deal - which is still good - however there were some great ones in this. And you can have ANY crisps, including the big grab bags, and a 500ml bottle of water. Bargain lunch!

This is nothing to do with pasties, lol.

awesome. Got a Greggs being furnished just down the road. This will do nicely when it opens...

Its a hot deal!

Term of quality i used to work for them. By made fresh they mean the filling comes in a big white tub and is then transfered from the tub to the sandwich.....Making it freshly made instore.

Saw poster today in my local Greggs. I thought it's probably the very plain sandwiches so didn't bother.
#14
yeah with the 2.99 you get any drink ;)

Should be Coke or similar. Water is rank and it is free out of a tap anyway

do they make money of it?

I don't get why bottled still water is so expensive in this country oO

Cost to Greggs:

Crisps - ~40p
Water - ~40p

So yes, easily.

Probably get all of those for less, I was just doing a "worst case scenario" guesstimate.

Because the country is full of mugs who'll pay it. (Some in England too).

Put it this way if you can get about 26 packs of walkers crisps from Tesco for the same price as this deal, then a single packet of crisps must cost a huge chain like Greggs practically peanuts. They're massive so benefit from economy of scale too.

Decent meal deal for £2, does anyone know if the Tuna Crunch sandwiches are included in this?

Used to love their Cheese & Onion pasties as a kid... Brownie points for anyone who can remember what Greggs used to be called in the good old 90's?? :p

Greggs sandwiches are poor imo - worse than Tesco's. Very mediocre bread is what ruins it for me. And they don't last very long before becoming garbage. Also, quality control is very, very hit and miss, Greggs workers are never a happy bunch and so much of the time the sandwiches are a mess. Give me Tescos homogenous sandwiches any day over a poor man's Pret-a-Manger any day (though at least Greggs aren't absolutely retarded with their fillings like Pret are - I just want a standard sandwich, not foul tasting crap like rocket and brie in everything).

Rant over.

Mystic Megs? Did they promise not to change the name? If so it must have been Cleggs.

Are you serious? you can get the crisps in asda for 10p per bag, and they must get them a lot cheaper then that!

Reads more like this

Cost to Greggs:
Sandwich - ~15p
Crisps - ~5p
Water - ~10p

Good deal for £2, hope its here to stay
#34
I work there so here is some extra info for you - in Scotland at least this deal includes egg mayo, cheese savoury, cheese and tomato or chicken and sweetcorn sandwich. The national range is slightly different. However someone stated that the sandwiches alone are £1.95 that is not true the dearest sandwich in this deal is £1.25 and the cheapest is £1.

Make sure you get the grab bag crisps to get the best value ;)
#35
Cheese savory in a 1/2 stottie cake.

Food of the gods, hopefully you get them down sarf. You get a bit of a poor man's menu to the North East.
