First post, so please go easy.

Been looking for one of these for some time. They are £12ish from other companies when calculated with postage, so this is a great bargain.

This is a preorder, so if youre not in a hurry its a great catch.

This will plug into your USB and act like a built in bluetooth, as it almost doesn't protude. so brilliant for backing up mobile phone content or geting an internet connection via your mobile on the go! - or for listening to music via bluetooth headset etc.

Transfer rates on this is 3mb/s as opposed the 2.1mb/s on the ebay ones.
Dont forget Quidco.

At 1.9cm this is arguably the smallest Bluetooth dongle in the world today. Despite its diminuitive size, Bluemicro PRO offers the same super-fast transfer speeds and enhanced connectively as other standard-sized V2.0 Bluetooth adaptors, without the disadvantage of 'bulky' adaptors which often get left at home! Bluemicro PRO's ultra low-profile (only protrudes by 7mm) means that once it's plugged in, it can be left in, making it the ideal solution for those who need Bluetooth connectivity on the move.

I previously bought a Nexxus bluetooth headset for my mobile, and it is a fantastic piece - no crackling and great range, so it seems that Nexxus does know something about bluetooth :-)

Looks like a good deal to me! I didn't know you could access the internet from your wireless home network on your mobile. Do you need to set up your mobile phone to accept it?

sorry not a good deal when u can get one from LED shoppe for £2.60 delivered. You are paying extra for something smaller that will still take up the same USB port in my opinion :)

Dooh! The whole point of this is its size.... Why dont you post on on every laptop deal, that you can get a desktop for cheaper.

Yup. You pair the phone and its pretty plug and paly with the bluetooth software. Ofcourse I would only recommend using it on a unlimited (e.g. T-mobile £7.50 p/m) or very cheap data plan.

I do it the whole time on my Nokia 6300, I dont know about other less sophisticated models, but I cant see why it shouldnt work.

LOL that is just stupid, this has the same functionality as the one in the link posted and is smaller. I would definately go for one that is cheaper and bigger (as though it is bigger its still small too!) being that functionally it will take up the exact same port of USB regardless of how much it sticks out! If you want to be pedantic and then use that logic for laptops and desktops fine but that is totally irrelevant to what i said.

They both perform the exact same function, desktops arent portable laptops are thats why you pay more for them! Why pay 3x the price just for it being smaller? Think about it!:whistling::p

The point of this device is that you can keep it plugged in permanently to your laptop without it sticking out which could cause damage to thed port if knocked. I speak from experience. I backup my phone daily and send messages via the opc in different languages not supported by my phone. I also use my mobile phone to surf on the go, so for me its a big plus to have the dongle in the laptop all the time. If you are a 1 time user then perhaps you can find cheaper bigger dongles, but thats not the point of this one.

Hope this clarifies things..

LOL you crack me up i have already voted cold as i dont think its a deal at all, i dont find the normal size ones to big to keep plugged in all the time at all. If it works for you then fine but you cannot justify your comment by comparing what i say with "why not buy a desktop its cheaper than a laptop but bigger".

There is nothing to apologise about as its an opinion which didnt require clarification. If it is what you want then good im glad you have found it at a price that works for you! as i said i personally think its not a good deal and that is that.

Sometimes you have to accept people will differ in opinion and that yours isnt the only one. Lets leave it at that. No apologies or nething just differing of opinion.

Set up is simple steve... after installating in PC, you need to detect via W810i and pair it for file transfer :)

I agree i've been looking for a deal on one of these, with a normal one plugged into a laptop perched on my knee its so easy to knock and wreck your usb port these fit snugly enough so there is no leverage to kill your usb port, full size is ok to be left plugged into the back of a desktop but not laptop. Worth paying that bit more for as its cheaper than the repair bill that you may end up with otherwise!!

Puts you off posting with all those nitpickers about.

Yes this is a re-branded Trust one

Trust me you want one of the nano ones - they are curved so do not catch on anything and can be left in a USB port all the time.

Do you mean that its better to get the curved one as opposed to the Nexxus one?

Also how do you know its rebranded? This one claims to have 3mb/s and TRust says 2.1mb/s

Heh! £5 postage and its an auction which has 5 days left...

Just noticed this one is smaller than the Trust one. This one is literally as wide as the metal connection, but the other one arches around the sides, so its wider.

and if it goes wrong, you have to live with it or send it back at your expense for 99p refund :p

I have the Trust one and as previously stated, its a Godsend that you can leave it permanently plugged into the back of the laptop. Mine has USB's along left side and 2 at rear and leaving this in at the back has made sliding laptop in and out of its neoprene case a doddle. At this price its a steal, particularly when laptop manufacturers want an extra ££££'s for Bluetooth pre-installed. Also the drivers that come with it are much better than the Windows driver. £8.21+carriage at Microdirect http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(30433)Trust-Ultra-Small-Bluetooth-2-USB-Adapter.aspx

Nice price. Heat n rep left.

Dunno how mucch these things are normally but it looks like a cool, well designed product! So much so I want one and I don't even have a use for it!!

Heated!

Can you use one of these to make a printer bluetooth instead of a standard USB connection (i.e. make the printer wireless ?)
#26
Great deal. It's been driving me mad for ages that our purchasing team forgot to order Bluetooth on my laptop and the external dongles are just too much of a hassle when you're on the move.

This one should be small enough to be left in the USB port all the time
#27
never seen one of these before...fantastic. i might get one. voted hot
#28
This has given me a quandary - the ledshoppe one is cheap, this is cute. Have an ledshoppe one & was thinking of a second, but this does have advantages. Voting hot.
#29
If you're worried about size why don't you just get an internal bluetooth card? Nothing sticking out and it doesn't use up any usb slots!
#30
Would this work with a Microsoft 4000 V 1.0 cordless mouse ? My existing plugin receiver says Notebook receiver V2.0 Thanks

Looks like a good deal to me, might have to pick on of these up. I'd use it on my ASUS EEE so I can pair it with my phone in the car, this way I can just leave it plugged in.

I have a longer Bluetooth dongle which I use for my laptop, and I will definitely be getting this one. There is a huge advantage to being able to leave it in the USB port permanently and it will still fit in the laptop case. The Ledshoppe one is probably a good alternative for a Desktop, but this is a better option for a Laptop.

of course the size is the point of this. Do you keep your bluetooth dongle plugged in the laptop when travelling in a laptop bag? The point of these devices is that it's always plugged in looks inconspicuous when plugged in and you also don't catch it when it's plugged in.

Good find...:)

My front USB ports are recessed - that would be murder to try to take out.
