Has anyone used this company before? I know there has been a big hoo hah about that portugal trip posted on here couple weeks back with ppl saying the hotel's changed, flights changed and them being overcharged etc. I know its a different company this time but there are a lot of lowlifes out there who take advantage of us folk and constantly bump up the price. Im gonna look into flights and acco independently that way I know what i'll be getting and the price can't change.

Im sure it is what it is but ya just get suspicious you know as its a pretty good deal

Yes, I've booked flight tickets through them - no problems (they're based in Luton)

Love Prague. Hate not having any holidays left at work......

Hot

Went last month. Great place. Flights are generally about 90quid from Leeds/Brad or Mancs... bit cheaper from down south I think...

Decent hotel by the looks here

Hot (especially if you're down south).

Will need your thermals though :P

Edit: forget the transfer fee btw - if it's near a tram stop just buy an unlimited travel card for 4quid and will probably be 1 bus and 1 tram to get there :)

I used to live in Prague, and yes it's pretty cold around that time! It's a good fresh cold though.....and good for the morning after(s). Best time of year to go is during the winter in my opinion......Excellent price!!

Snow-covered Prague in January is beautiful. Definitely recommended.

My eyes lit up when i saw this and then suddenly drooped to find down south departures only! :(
I so much wanna go, as others have posted, Prague in snow is simply a fairytale wonderland, breathtakingly beautiful!

Done Prague in Feb well cold just take a jacket well recomended and dumplings to die for oO

I checked out the hotel's booking rates until June and if you book in january the cheapest non refundable is 44 euros a night but in june its 50 euros a night so not that much of a price change so dont think people shouldnt panic if they arnt able to get this, only thing that will increase is flights probbaly but if you book early enough with easyjet you can get them quite cheap, just depends what time of year you wanna go really. Prague in january sound amazing but the wife can't do it then so will just have to wait, this is still a scorching deals just the dates dont suit us everything else does and the hotel is meant to be saweeeeeeet

You can fly from Scotland and get a similar deal quite easily.

Fly with jet2.com from Edinburgh on Jan 16th and come back on Jan 20th - return price is £51.48 per person including all Taxes and online check in.
Book a hotel through Travel Republic or similar (they have a choice of about 320 hotels in Prague starting at £27.48 per person for 4 nights staying at the Botel Racek Prague Hotel - therefore works out about £79 per person and you get the bonus of 4 nights instead of 3.
If you really wanted to stay in the same hotel as in the post, you can also book this through Travel Republic but works out about £9 per person more than the £99 deal posted (but you get an extra night in Prague).

If anyone has experience with this type of trip, does 2 people sharing just mean a double room or will it extend to a twin..?

Cheers

You are absolutely right there. I saved over £400 booking my flights and hotel directly rather than through a travel agent. They were only booking us on a Ryanair flight flight anyway, so I booked it myself, got onto the website and booked the hotel myself online, got a confirmation email and it was all done. The travel agent really wasnt doing anything else eg laying on transfers or providing a rep.

Was gonna suggest this too. All it takes is a little bit of groundwork...... Can you show me a link to get the pricing you're suggesting for the 4* Plaza Alta Hotel. I can't seem to find it. Thanks.

Just go to TravelRepublic.co.uk and do a search for Hotel Only in Prague for 16/01/11-20/01/11 - search will come back with about 320 hotels but if you look down the left hand side under "Find Hotel Name" just type in Plaza Alta and hit the "Find Hotel Name" button.

Great deal!

If you're going to Prague. Please beware of the taxis. We just returned last week and was overcharged considerably twice!

Nope, Prague :p

Just tried them and all gone all dates, none left at this price.

Did Prague a few years ago in March/April and it was cold then. Very romantic especially as when on a guided walk, as we crossed from Wenceslas Square into Old Town, snow was coming down the street towards us from the direction of the theatre where Mozart premiered some of his compositions.

Given the time of year I think you'd be able to find a more centrally located hotel for a good price. Holesovice isn't far away (few metro stops to the main action) but nothing beats being able to walk out of your hotel into the middle of things. This particular hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the metro station.

Don't be put off by the time of year, as long as they scrape the snow off the runway it's all good :)

Good little place is Prague & this is a good deal now thay Ryanair have stopped flying there :)
#34
Checked out this hotel on tripadvisor - seems a wee bit away from the action.

Managed to get a hotel just below the castle - hotel sax, for a much cheaper price than it is now.

Cheapest standalone price for hotel is £38 so per person £57. So only a further £42 for the flight. I dont know wheter this is expensive or cheap?

Really, in January, you want to stay close to the centre of town otherwise your not really going to want to venture out that much on the evenings if its a hastle to get home, and prague is best at night time.
#35
What dates was that on, scottg? Seems good value if availability runs out on this offer.

Stayed here before - bit more expensive but beautiful and can't get much more central.

Prague is a great citybreak.
#38
Doesn't seem to be availability at £99 any more so this should probably be expired. They're offering an alternative hotel for £150 a head from Stansted including transfers though which is still a decent price.
#39
Thanks for this great deal! It has been featured over on the HUKD blog Playpennies!

We stayed in the same hotel 18 months ago nice hotel bathrobe, slippers nice bar, breakfast. If you take the bus outside airport to Holesovice terminus you are 200 yds from hotel think it was about £3 each way! far cheaper than a taxi. The tram to the old town are frequent and very cheap
