Excellent find, cheaper than buying tickets at cinema + free postage with hellmans book offer. Thanks
#3
Thanks for this :) Rep+ Voted Hot!

Just to remind people the hellmans code is HELLMANAMZN2 and add the hellmans book by searching on Amazon for "Sandwich made it", super saver seems to be disabled as its close to xmas, so you still pay £1.40 for postage i think. Total cost £8.43

Bear in mind the expiry seems to be "Offer expires on 28/02/07"

I noted that after my initial order:) Cheers
Still, figured I could each week with the gf. So bought 3 DVDs. (12 tickets, so 6 trips for us)

Should be able to do 6 trips in 2months.

There's another interactive dvd game bargain at £6.97 at amazon-tom baker's interactive sci-fi quiz dvd game!

I'm going to order both of these right now!

Anyone know if the 4 passes are only valid with this VueAtHome offer? Or do you think the 4 tickets are completely separate and can be used directly without signing up for anything?

I was wondering that too. There's a trailer here : http://myvue.com/cinemas/vuequiz/quizmaster.wmv which states "Includes free cinema pass" - so I'd be a bit unhappy if there some "lovefilm powered" strings attached.

I added Middlemarch - only cost an extra 50p or so as I could use supersaver.

A bit more information.

I assume you do not have to join VUEATHOME to claim the cinema tickets?.

Can someone please confirm.

Seems to be the same trailer I posted previously...but thanks for the review - it reads to me like the actual ticket vouchers are in the box....which is just the ticket :)

how do you get this for £6.97 amazon are advertising this as £12.99 now :santa:
#22
Looks like the price went up. Forgot to order this last night :(

I was waiting to see if the free tickets it included VUE West End.

Quite typical of Amazon to put prices up on things when they sell well. Of course, the price may fall too later..

Like lots of you today I've just received my Barry Norman DVD only to disappointed not to find the cinema tickets.
I typed in the link only to be taken to lovefilm.com where I could only receive the four tickets after I subscribed to a free month trial. I'm already with lovefilm so I was unable to follow through with this so I phoned them up. The only way I could receive the tickets would be to open up another account with a different email address and a different postcode (and I'm assuming a different credit card). I don't really want another account so I decided to phone Amazon direct on 0800 2796620.
They were very helpfull and acknowledged that there was a problem as the operator had heard several of his collegues mention it throughout the day.
They said that I could return the items with a full refund, pay my postage and also credit my account for £5 for my inconvience. I then asked if I could keep the item (as I wanted the DVD game anyway) and they said that I could keep the DVD and that they would still credit my account with £5 and also the £3 (which might end up being £1.43? as I used the Hellman's book deal) postage that I paid.
Obviously I jumped at this.
I might even open up a seperate account and still try and receive the four free tickets anyway. Even if I don't, there's a £1.50 off a Vue Cinema ticket on the back of the voucher.
I think someone is going to pay dearly for this error, don't you?

Chris

I've just called Amazon up and complained too. I wasn't offered anything for my troubles but that wasn't the point. I said the text was misleading and they would soon have lots of dissatified customers.

I was able to cancel my order online. I've ended up paying over the odds for a cheap book I think but nevermind.

It's funny that lovefilm suggested you deliberately try and get around their one trial / account rule. Naughty, naughty. Too long a story but I'll never deal with lovefilm again. They said I couldn't have a free trial because me, or someone else at my address had already had one. This would be ok except for the fact I live alone in a brand spanking new property / address :). Shysters.

Cheers Chris, I to received mine today and could not use the free cinema tickets as have already been with lovefilm several times. phoned amazon and obviously not as persausive as you but still got £3 added to my account.

Making the dvd £5.43 incl. postage, so i'm happy with that.
#33
All they have offered me is to return the item to them at my own expense and then to have to pay postage on the remainder of my order as it now falls below the £14.95!
Disgracefull!
#34
Thanks to Chris for prompting me to contact Amazon. Had £3 credit to account also which I've used off the clearance Escape to Victory dvd and shirt set.
#35
Clicked on expired 3 hours ago as it has gone up to £13.99.:?

Tell them the item had a misleading description and therefore was not "as described" which should be covered by legislation. That's if they are being idiots. Maybe if you call again you'll get someone more sympathetic? They don't appear to have a consistent approach - you might want to mention that some people are being compensated whilst others are being penalised.

Well had my delivered today (2 of them) and also a Gary Lineker Dvd game. I did not want to cancel as would be charged on the Gary Lineker for shipping. So phoned them up and explained and he gave me £20 back. (£10 as a voucher and £10 as a refund to my cc).

As i had the hellmans codes aswell the 3 dvds only cost me £15.57 so they paid me £4.43 for the 3 dvds.

He was going by the fact that 4 cinema passes in my vue would cost me £5 each so refund me 4 lots as he said it is misleading.

Also got a refund on express delivery aswell (another story) but really nice guy.
