Great game and a great price but a poor collector's edition in my opinion.
#2
The game has been £17 everywhere for a while now, and this collectors edition is crap. Not worth the extra £11, that's for sure.

Use the search function dude. Zavvi and play do it for 18 quid.

Its been 16 quid in my local Tesco (Halifax) on the PS3 as of late. I bought it as a present for a mate last Friday, rang through as 36, but when I questioned it they saw the price on the shelf and adjusted it to 16. Was still marked as 16 when I was in there on Monday night.

Worst collector's edition EVER.
Brilliant game though.

Probably helps if you don't search for the second game that hasn't been released yet...

£18 for the original:

I finally picked this up, even after the bad reviews of the CE, cos' with reward points and quidco I got it t down to around £20.

It arrived today and I've just opened it. Game have it listed on their site at £27.99 new or £17.98 used both in stock. Save your £10 and buy the used one, cos that's what they'll send you.

To add insult to injury their returns policy states

"Any software may be returned for refund or exchange within 28 days of the despatch date, providing that the seal remains unbroken on the software.."

The seal is broken which is how I know it's used and/or a return, either way according to them I can't even return it, I don't even know if the download code had been used in it. I think I'll report them to trading standards if that's the right place.

Suggestions?

Call them and tell them you've received used goods, I'd be surprised if they didn't allow you to return the item using the freepost return label.

Game and Gamestation have sent me used games instead of new ones more than once in the past.

It's not on really but they keep doing it.

Thanks, I've looked up their number, I did e-mail them straight away but no reply yet, I will send it back and shove in a covering letter.

Yeah, they've done it once before to me with the original xbox version of doom 3, it was out of print, they e-mailed to say they'd found some stock. I ordered it at the only price I could "new". It was, as I expected used. They couldn't have gotten it any other way. I didn't care then, as obviously there was no other choice, but I thought then it was dishonest not to sell it as used when it clearly was bought in that way.

Here though, they've just defrauded me out of £10.01 as they were in stock of both when I ordered it new.

To add further insult to injury they now list the used copies as out of stock! How many more people got a used/returned copy with a handwritten sticker on it? mine said "U49" which I assume means It's the 49th used copy out of x number they had in stock.

Like you say it's not on.

You shouldn't send it back before you get confirmation from them that they'll accept the return, and make sure when you do return it you get proof of postage.

Too late I sent it back lunchtime, they still haven't replied, I got proof of postage but if they want to play funny they'll regret it as far as I'm concerned what they sent is not what I ordered.

I used the faulty code since it's the only one that applied and put a letter in explaning why I couldn't use any other code as they didn't provide one to cover the scenario. They sent the wrong item full stop.

As I said in the letter, by sending a used copy when I ordered a new one, they wilfully defrauded me out of the £10.01 difference. I also took pictures of it as proof should it be needed. There's also the fact that in all the years I've bought stuff from them I have never had to send anything back for any reason.

Either way they've lost a customer, the last two things I bought from them was a CE game for £60 and a MW2 xbox super elite for £250 and cos' they wanted to cheat an extra £10.01 from me I wont buy anything from them again.

Screw them!

Well it seems to be sorted now, they say they'll issue a refund.
