You can get the standard version for cheaper than this but it's now very hard to find the GOTY edition new. Very few online retailers have stock and this is by far the cheapest. GOTY offers 6 extra challenge maps and the option of (probably poor) 3D as it comes with those retro red/blue glasses! 90+ on Metacritic!

Note that this has a seperate achievement list to the standard version. Even if you have already played that or the 'classics' version you can play this GOTY edition through again and earn a fresh 1000 gamerscore should that be your thing. ;)

Synopsis:

"The Dark Knight must bring order to the corridors of Gotham’s psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane in this adventure title that blends combat and stealth.

Rather than follow the events of the modern day Batman films, Batman – Arkham Asylum is more closely linked to the style of the comics themselves, offering a heavier and more menacing look for the Dark Knight. When the inmates of Arkham Asylum are set loose by the Joker, it’s up to the Batman to roam its dark halls and regain control.

Batman is no stranger to the world of video games, but few have managed to replicate the character’s use of stealth, striking fear into the villains he faces. Arkham Asylum offers brutal combo moves for up-close combat, but Batman’s real strength lies in his ability to observe each environment and pick off enemies one by one. As well as the usual bevy of thugs for Batman to mow through, some of the comic’s most infamous villains are on hand, including Poison Ivy.

Arkham Asylum is one of the first Batman titles to capture the style and atmosphere of the more adult comic series, giving Batman a series of stealth abilities more suited to his superhero roots."

8% Quidco too
#3
Indeed forgot about quidco. Also once you're done with it it sells for around 20 quid on a well known auction site due to rarity!
#4
Thanks! I've already played through the 360 version but wanted the PS3 one for the exclusive Joker levels.
#5
I got the PS3 version of this in Blockbusters last week for £5.95 (used of course)
#6
I just brought the regular version of this.

Can you buy all of the extra GOTY stuff on PSN? If so, how would would it all cost?

Or is it worth me selling my regular version and buying the GOTY version?
#7
Unavailable already.

****, I HATE Tesco Entertainment. They always pull this crap.

Good luck for those who think they have ordered it, everything like this I have ordered from them before they have ended up cancelling and giving me a half assed apology that it was a mis-price, but really it's just a marketing ploy to atract attention and hits on their site.

PS3 is no longer available but 360 is still fine - edited accordingly.

Mine was dispatched today. Ordered Monday.

Recieved today. Dirty, soiled pre-owned copy advertised as new. GOTY case. No slip sleeve. Regular edition disc/manual. Scratches all over. Disgusted. Sending a letter of complaint along with the item return.

Anyone else order? You might be in for a suprise...

I've just received it. It's unsealed but in almost pristine condition. It comes with the two pair of glasses in a sealed bag, manual, disc and sleeve. A copy of Final Fantasy Tactics i ordered arrived unsealed and the case is totally smashed.
