Based on the DC Comics series, BATMAN BEGINS explains Bruce Wayne's (Christian Bale) transformation from billionaire playboy to crime-fighting 'Caped Crusader'. In this welcome addition to the saga, our hero faces the triple threat of martial arts leader Ra's al Ghul (Ken Watanabe), hallucinogen-wielding Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy), and a wave of corruption that has descended on Gotham.
Director Christopher Nolan's second offering, THE DARK KNIGHT, pits Batman against two new enemies: the Joker (Heath Ledger in a gleefully maniacal, tour de force performance) and Two Face (Aaron Eckhart), a former politician with an axe to grind.
Nolan has successfully steered the look and feel of both movies away from the gothic, almost cartoonish style that characterised Tim Burton's films, opting instead for a gritty realism that takes the franchise in a darker, more dramatic direction.

I'm a massive Batman fan; and have been for, oooh, 40 years. I must say that Heath Ledgers portrayal of The Joker is amazing, and gets it bang on for the modern Batman style (Caesar Romero was perfect for the 60's). Such a shame Ledger won't be able to reprise that role again

Why would you want a 4 disc version? 1 featuring the feature film and the rest just fluff like 'the making of'?

Yup, it's the 2 disc of The Dark Knight AND the 2 disc of Batman Begins. If you already have BB then TDK can be had for under £7 on its own.

All good things come to those who wait.

Typical. I had been searching for a better deal on this fgor ages. If only I'd waited a bit longer.

I bought this 3 weeks ago on an auction site. I got a good deal which was £13.99 with free delivery. I had to queue for ages at Royal Mail sorting office on a saturday morning to collect it though.

Good deal. Voted Hot.

Added to reputation.

OK NO NEED TO BE PATRONISING. Still Batman Begins was complete duff. The description is a load of fluff also with a LOAD of CAPITALISED words for no reason destabilising my reading. Not voted by the way.

matt the capital letters are to highlight the two different films. The only capital letters used are the fim titles; so I wouldn't say that was a load of capitalized words. I'm sorry that capital letters destabalise your reading. So I have kept them to a minimum here.

I must disagree - fantastic film  and a great set to have. Although TDK 2-disc is now only £5.98 the cheapest BB 2-disc was at £7+ so excellent value.
