Batman Movies 3 for 2 @ Play.com (+ 4% Quidco)

Play.com seem to have added some new titles to their 3 for 2 Blu Ray offers, some of which are the original batman movies:

Batman: The Movie (£17.99)
Batman (Tim Burton) (£13.99)
Batman Returns (£13.99)
Batman Forever (£13.99)
Batman & Robin (£13.99)

Okay so the last 2 aren't really worth bothering with, but good for a collection, plus you can also add the animated Batman: Gotham knight to that and make it 6 for 4 if you're feeling frivolous!!

If you get 3 of the 4 'latest' versions you're looking at £27.98, not forgetting your 4% Quidco bring it down to £26.86 which makes it about £8.95 each! I think the next cheapest is Amazon for £12.98 each

No worries. I've been waiting for them to get into one of these sales. I've already got them on DVD but form their very first release so the transfers weren't particularly good. So this is ideal for me to replace my old onces and they'll sit nicely with my blu ray Batman Begins and The Dark Knight!

Good price! Not out for another 2 months yet though. Might be worth waiting for those who don't want it straight away though

(Due for release on 16/03/2009)

EDIT:... as just mentioned above.

Only the first two films in this "series" were really worth watching... and arguably just the first, really.

And then, if you compare it to the recent franchise "reboot" [I hate that term] the "Batman" movie with Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson is as much a world away from the new movies as the Tim Burton directed movie was from the "Batman" movie of 1966 with Adam West & Burt Ward.

(An aside: The Riddler in the next Christopher Nolan movie looks like being Eddie Murphy. Who is up for a wager that Johnny Depp is being kept back to bring The Joker back into the movies in future years?)

BFN,

Eddie murphy? no thanks Christopher nolan shot down those rumours anyway.

Eddie murphy would be just as bad as jim carey in my opinion.

Who would you like to see in the role?

I hope Mr P N Guin (Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot) makes an appearance but not a "comedy" version like Burgess Meredith &/or Danny DeVito.

EDIT:
David Tennant as "The Riddler"?

Not sure who maybe franco from spiderman/pineapple express.I imagine the role being serious traps set out and batman needs to solve the riddle get to the place before the bomb goes off something like that.

Depp for joker wouldn't work for not after ledgers performance and im in no way a heath ledger fan. I would see depp playing something to jack sparrow as riddler - and to be honest i dont like depp as an actor. David tennant might work though but dont know if he is hollywood enough.

I don't think penguin would work with the new style that the films are in
catwoman would but please nolan dont bring DR. Freeze back.
