It's fine for gaming , but i f you plug the hdmi from your satellite box into the xbox one the picture is crap, don't even try and watch sport as it will make you dizzy.

Watched a couple of films via showbox and localcast and they were fine, not watched a blu ray yet though.

Been happening since day 1, wish I had looked it up first.

What is this EA Access thing? Yes, not long had my XBOX One!

As for this game - took it back on the 360 as didn't get on with it compared to the COD franchise - is it much better on the ONE as not overly impressed with COD Advanced Warfare (if I wanted to be flying around on jetpacks and lasering people I'd have bought HALO!)
#15
Ea access is not free you pay a subscription. But you basically renting older ea games. Plants vs zombies, battlefield, FIFA 14, madden 14, peggle, need for speed!! all "free" to play by paying 19.99 for a year or £3 a month( I think). Worth it if you have not played some of them

Pay £20 pa and get to play a number of EA titles for free while you subscribe, currently Battlefield 4/Fifa 14/ Need for Speed Rivals/Peggle 2/Madden 25/Plants v Zombies 2 and others will be added over time.

It's a service from EA that's exclusive to the Xbox One. It costs £19.99 a year and for that you get to download and play the following full games: -

Battlefield 4
Need for Speed Rivals
FIFA 14
Madden NFL 25
Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare
Peggle 2

You can play the above games as long as you're a subscriber. More games will be added over time.

Aside from those games, you also get 10% off all EA games and content in the MS Store, plus full game trials, where you can download the latest games before they hit the shops and play them for a limited time, then if you decide to buy the full game, your game save/achievements will carry over.

With EA access do you get the Premium edition of Battlefield 4 - i.e access to ALL the maps and ALL the weapons - or just the basic version?

Shame that it is only for Xbone and not Xbox 360.

Thanks for the reply - and of those games, do you download the full version or play them online direct from their servers so to speak? I.E. if you stopped subscribing, how would you lose the games if they are downloaded?

You download and install as if you were buying them from the Marketplace.
When you start the game it checks the status of your profile's EA Access subscription and it won't let you play if your subscription is not active.

Downloads, and if it goes by the same way full game trials go. it'll just ask you to purchase the game after the subscription expires :p Really good deal if you have none of the games though :)

Great price if EA Access isn't appealing to you. I paid £20 for this on Xbox Marketplace on Monday; and with this you get a physical copy which may suit others more than digital download.

The games need to be on your hard drive, which you can do in any of these ways: -

1. Download them.

2. Install one or more of them from a disc, so, for example, if your friend has Battlefield 4 you can install it from his/her disc to save you a large download. EA Access will then just unlock what's already on your hard drive.

3. If you have an external hard drive for your Xbox One, you can copy any/all of the games over from a friend's hard drive/Xbox One and again, EA Access will just unlock them.

As mentioned, when you launch one of the games, it'll check to make sure your EA Access subscription hasn't expired.

Same price at amazon

I know this is a bit off topic, but with EA Access can you game share? Would be a deal breaker for me. On topic; I don't play much battlefield, but even I feel I've gotten my £40 I paid at launch's worth from the game. Fun by yourself, extremely fun with others with a solid campaign. A steal for £15 for a hard copy! :)

I don't have Battlefield or Need for Speed Rivals - they're the only two that really appeal.

So, what about Battlefield - on the 360 I wasn't impressed (and it had an issue, whereby it wouldn't save?)

I've not tried it personally, but according to this, the answer is yes: -

The game was a mess on all platforms when it launched, but it's received multiple patches since then and works fine now.

Thanks for that, only games that appeal are PvZ and NFS as I have BF4 as said. Even then I have NFS on PC (albeit, absolutely awful on my computer). Coughing up £10 for me, £10 for the brother. Years worth of game (especially considering I think PvZ won't have much demand this time next year) isn't too bad. Discounts might be nice for Battlefield DLC too :)

As Funk said, Battlefield is in a much better state now on X1. I'd definitely go as far as saying its near flawless at this point (bar the awful party system, but given BF3's there's not much hope improving that). And definitely worth the £15 that's being asked :)

I preferred Ghosts on the 360 but as I said, really not impressed (so far) with the latest COD - is there a new Battlefield due soon or is this it for a while?

Each to their own I guess, I liked the change :P But for your question the release for Hardline (next battlefield) is March 17, 2015 according to the wiki

Thanks.

Oh, well, as you can get the base game for about £10 to £15 now if you are only going to play BF4 then I think buying the disc and then paying for the Premium, which you would have to do anyhow, makes more sense.
