If you already have access to a PSP that's already been updated with custom firmware, then I believe it's possible to convert any Sony PSP battery into a Pandora battery using the PSP itself... But if you don't have access to one, then I guess this isn't so bad - certainly cheaper than the Pandora batteries on eBay, although you will probably want to buy a spare battery for this exercise, too.

I assume there's no need to buy another battery if you go the 'Hot Wire' route.

works with slim batteries? i really don't think so...may be wrong but I'm sure slim batteries have to be hard modded.

I swear i read that if you convert a phat battery to help you freind get custom firmware on there slim their is a tool available to switch it back to a working battery anyway

aha

To revert to a normal battery after you've put a custom firmware):
What firmware are you installing? If you installed 3.71 M33, use this method:

1) Plug in your PSP without a battery, into the AC adapter and start it up
2) Download and install the 1.50 Kernel Addon-2 (if you don't already have it. IT IS NOT THE 1.5 FIRMWARE!!!)
If you already have your PSP set to the 1.50 kernel, skip to Step 6
3)Turn off the PSP, Turn it on while holding R to go into recovery the menu
4) Go to Configuration --> Homebrew Folder (you'll see it set to 3.71). Hit X to change it to 1.50
5) Hit Back, and exit the recovery menu (hit exit). (You might have to reboot your PSP after it goes into XMB)
6) After you've gotten into XMB, put the battery in and take the AC cord out. Go into the Pandora's Battery homebrew app that you used to make into a Pandora's battery. Hit "Square" to make it into a normal battery (it changes the serial # to 0x1234567).
7) Let the application exit and go back into XMB. Reboot your PSP with only the battery in to see if it worked. (If it didn't, you might have to repeat Step 6).
