Zavvi have it for £5.95, I was going to post it a couple of days ago as it was the cheapest but I thought people wouldn't be bothered cos of the age of the game - what do I know! Asda must have dropped the price since then and beat it by 4p - I will have to vote HOT for that reason :-D

Cheers mate - are Zavvi still around? I was in london last week in Pall Mall, so I took a stroll up and the one near there was closed down.

Is this game multiplayer only and if so is there still much of an online community playing it?
#7
game is single and multiplayer , still has a pretty good online following , many mods to add on to that especially AIX 2.0 which is fantastic. Bargain price for one of the best games ever to hit the PC.

Yes it is multiplayer and there are servers full of people 24/7 the game rocks

oh well everyone beat me to it.

Tons of servers still active, takes seconds to find space on a 32vs32 server. Helicopters, tanks, snipers, this game still rocks. I've logged over 369 hours on it! Youc an check out your stats at www.bf2s.com - my handle is Zyyb

So getting tempted now, but is it a typical online game where if i'm casual and do around 2hrs a week I'll get my bottom kicked by those who live and breathe the game.

still one of the best online games ever, you can practise against the bots in singleplayer mode loads of mods,i might buy it again just for the addons i just have battlefield 2 is it worth buying just for the expansion packs?
#13
Awesome deal, this game is amazing. I got it when it was released several years ago and have just started playing again. Very addictive.

I may actually buy this since I have Special Forces but don't have the booster packs, does it work out cheaper than getting them from EA?

If anyone picks this up and wants to join me for a game, hit me up via PM.

Nope, its perfect for casual play

There is however a ranking system with which you can unlock new weapons, as far as I can tell this is done via how many points you get and not how much time you spend playing.

Excellent price for one of the best games ever. Still thousands playing on it's servers. Heat added
#16
One of the best games ever, the amount of hours I've wasted on this and Countersrike is scary.

Anyone played Project Reality?

If so, does it extend the requirements of BF2 as it seems to lag horribly for me?

£5.73 at the Hut

Weird how the Hut group price fluctuate.

5% quidco on the Hut too

One of the best multiplay FPS ever to be produced bar CoD4, CSsource, FarFry2, TC:End War. Shame EA didn't continue support and have yet to release Battlefield 3.

Even though I already have BF2 and Spec Forces, ordered it again because of the 2 add-on packs plus can keep a copy with me for personal use lol.

BF2 is a great game and this is a superb price.

And yeah, casual players should be fine as long as they have some FPS experience, although maybe stay away from flying the air vehicles :)

Also there is a new patch in development from EA along with another new map, which is pretty cool of them (rare to see me praise EA, but credit where it's due).

Got order confirmation. Had a play on BF2 just yesterday, still get those same idiots that keep dolphin diving and jumping like some 12-year old high-on sugar that forgot to take his ritalin.

Thanks OP and Charlie, got a copy from the Hut with Quidco. :)

Installation process is very tedious though, the EA website won't let me register the Booster Packs so now I'm having to email them to do it manually for me.
