Cancel its a preorder... They don't normally take payment until despatch.

Cheapest around at the moment, but I bet it will be around £25 nearer release.

Not voted either way.

Don't forget if you want this in time for release you'll need to put in for First Class delivery pushing it up to £32.

Edit II: £29.99 on GAME. If you want it for release you're better ordering from them.

Battlefield 3 on a console is sacrilege. 64 players on the PC compared to the 24 on the consoles should make everyone's choice a no brainer.

Also just so you know those gameplay footage videos are from the PC build. Not any console.

Will still be the same gameplay, will look better if you have a high end pc ofcourse. 64 players must be mental, 24 is enough for me lol.
#9
Going to wait, until I know they have released a full working game. (no bugs or niggles)

Hopefully :)
Obviously the maps will be adjusted like on BF2 for the size of the server. Console's will only get the smaller size maps, not sure if there will be enough room for jets and the like. I imagine it will be similar to what is available now on bad company 2.

At least this is not a COD release, this will actually be supported on the PC & PS3 (_;)

Word of warning to any prospective PC owners placing pre-orders. This will NOT run on Windows XP operating sytems. Vista and Windows 7 PCs only.
#12
Looks good, might get it for the Xbox

Had the pre-order with Amazon for a while but decided to go with Game instead as their delivery service is much quicker. Any idea as to how gamegears is with their pre-order deliveries?

Gutting! Looks like it might be time to give 7 a try. This will be the first FPS PC game I will have played for years, the video of that gameplay looks amazing!

makes it a bargain if it comes with a pc capable of running it very nicely.

got a code for the ps3 beta, can't wait

Good price. Not going to order until later on though - there is too much risk of this game turning into BF:Bad company 3..and really don't want that. BC series was poo, gotta hope that BF3 is really a battlefield series game again!

That's true and Amazon need to change their advert as it says Windows 7, Vista and XP.

Is it just me that can't see the point in pre-ordering a game so far in advance ? It's not like it'll be as rare as hens teeth ! oO

PC games release dates are notorious for being pushed back. Prey - 8 years late, only to be a huge disappointment.

Can't see many paying the usual 50p a slot for a 64 slot BF3 server :(
#23
Not touching it until at least 2 patches in and some feedback from the Pc competitive community. BC2 was a joke for anything more than just hitting "Play Now" and playing a round or two.

Not bad

Sorry I can't afford £500 to upgrade my PC. XBox 360 it is. Bad Company 2 has not suffered from only 24 players and reduced graphic quality. It's good enough for me. Also when I played BF2 and 2142 on my PC I could never find a game with 64 players and If I did it was unplayable because the LAG was horrendous. Anyway I think these where both only 32 players and the LAG was still horrible

Exactamundo!

Any FPS game, especially games like Battlefield are ridiculous on a console with unresponsive and inaccurate joypads. Of course, console kiddies will think they're the masters of their gaming universe but give them an FPS with a keyboard and mouse and they're stumped.

I've got over 1,500 hours logged on BF2 making it to 3 Star General and it's for this reason that I won't be buying BF3. I don't want to be addicted again! But for those buying BF3, you had better make sure your PC is a beast as this game looks like it's going to struggle on anything less than very fast PC with a top of the range GPU.
#27
It would be nice if they actually gave a spec of the PC this was filmed on.
#28
Cant stand FPS games on console.....auto aim kiddies really dont have a clue. If this expands on Bad Company 2 then it should be great.

750 i5 OC'ed to 3.0 ghz + GTX560 Ti. If this doesn't run BF3 on a high setting properly I'm getting the Xbox version.
#30
loved BF2 on the PC and yes KB & mouse are better.

my PC will probably play the game nicely at medium settings, but i will be buying it for the 360. majority of my real friends have 360s and as im getting older i just prefer the pick up and play of a console on my big TV compared to sat down in front of my monitor.

personally I wouldn't pre-order any game anymore as the big titles will more than likely be in the supermarkets for a reasonable price at launch.
#31
Used to playt games like this on pc, i must admit they are better on pc, but if you got a console you dontr have to worry about specs, they both have advantages and disadvantages imo.

Very well said! I'm in the same boat as you, rarely use my PC nowadays for gaming
#34
Sonic, I don't think auto aim works when you play online multiplayer. Only on single story on the Xbox.
