Presume Amazon are matching the Game group on this one, but went with them first and will provide links to the others.

Xbox is a little bit dearer at these sites though and not what I would consider a deal.

Nectar points to be had here, or quidco and loyalty at Game/Gamestation, the choice I leave to you...

Unfortunately false economy if you plan to play it online due to the new EA tactics with the use of codes.

Word of warning... dont bother going into game or gamestation for this. Its £24.99 new instore or £17.99 used in gamestation and £18.99 used in game. They wouldnt price match there own website price of £8.99 used or £15.99 new.

the retail stores are managed seperately from the online store.

Best FPS out by far. Would avoid second hand copies though, without the VIP codes you don't get certain maps and stuff... Would expect this annoyance to kill the used pricing but it doesn't seem to.

VIP = half of the maps

The reason I play Cod rather than this is for the gameplay. I'm getting sick of cod and planning to buy BC3, I really hope they improve the gameplay and you can actually crouch because for me that was the problem for me with this game.

What? You don't like it because you can't crouch? You can crouch...

Mby prone then but either way its still really "Clunky" if that makes sense>?
#20
It is a little bit tricky to get used to the prone and crouch for people used to playing COD. I wish they would allow you to map the crouch/prone controls to Circle rather than pushing R3, it does feel clunky to me. Apart from that its an awesome game.

Hopefully in BF3 they'll offer an option to have different controls.

The reason they left out prone is to reduce the camping, makes the gameplay better as people can't hide anywhere and sit there for the whole match. If anyone played BFMC2 you will remember they had prone, you could dive to prone in midair and it would be impossible for anyone to shoot you :D

There's really no need to go prone in BC2, they designed the game around not needing to go prone.

It makes the game better imo, less camping, or at least, its easier to spot the campers. Snipers always have a bush nearby to sit in. Its the perfect solution.

None of that garbage on CoD where you can go prone mid air, so unrealistic.

for those without a VIP code - give EA a call and ask nicely :)

this game has stood the test of time with me, played all the COD games, Killzone 2/3, Deadspace etc, sold the lot except this. Awesome multiplayer game.. even better with a few mates all in a squad..

Thanks for that info, it's strangely difficult to actually find out what you do get with VIP/ have to pay extra for.

FWIW, the game is well worth it online even without the VIP code!

It's a cheap tactic but I do it on CoD games flawlessly, I can even drop shot on normal button layout I'm that used to it. Always catches the noobs out.

You can definitely go prone in BF3 (NOT BC3!!!! Totally different series)... R3 for crouch is much better than circle, I always change my layout to tactical on CoD so it's the same. It's way more natural because you can change your stance without taking your thumb off the stick. I can't say for sure if it's going be clunky like BC2 is though... Personally I think it's fine as I'm used to it (over 200 hours played online) but I know a lot of people are put off when its not 60pfs and smooth like CoD games. But then CoD games don't look half as good and there's no destruction 2.0. BC2 is a totally different game on PC though, makes CoD seem clunky.

It's a great game though one thing I have hated about recent EA shooters is the need to put in excessive 'head/gun' bob. I personally find it very disoreinting. Sure its 'realistic' but when the player is static it seems redundant

But i degress - heat added

£15 new in ASDA or £14.99 online from Currys/Dixons/PCW with 3% Quidco too.
