Another pic from my local store (Hendon) for those who need further basis as to whether or not this deal is nationwide - also don't forget about nectar points (is it still triple points tomorrow?) plus, if you're lucky you might get a voucher for £2 off a £20 spend at the checkout if you do some shopping beforehand.

Lastly check out the link below if you're interested in playing with fellow members of HUKD whilst having a laugh.

How much is Split/Second in that photo, do you remember? I am guessing £34.99 or something like that? If it's £24.99 along with Battlefield Bad Company 2 then that is a steal too.

This sounds like me and COD MW2. I have spent days/nights on COD MW2 while trying to hold down a job, raise two kids and keep the marriage going. Something will have to go!
Anyone want two kids, one is house trained, the other requires some fine tuning!

Still I'm tempted to go for Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

When you say its good, you mean 'online play' and not just the game itself?
#15
Ye agreed much better than Cod , much more realistic.
#16
but isnt it more of a strategy type FPS? when I played the beta/demo I had to walk a looong way just to get into the action and I had to pick from some options who I wanted to be or something like that cant really remember, with CODMW2 you jump into fighting immediately, im not bashing this game I just want to know, I dont want to get final impressions from the demo.
#17
In a word - just get it! You won't regret it :)

This is a more strategic game than COD and you don't get as many lame American kids squeaking down their headsets at you and playing bad rap/hip home at you!

Also great that buildings are totally destructible and nothing more satisfying that shelling the base of a building where snipers are hidden and watch it fall to the ground taking them out at the same time - mwahahahah!

this is the part of MW2 that let's it down but if you just mute them and then find a game where it isn't full of energiser bunnies on crack wielding magnum .44 and tactical knives you can still have fun !

I am very tempted to switch to this but want to get some more value from the Stimulus package (and try to not buy the next one) PLUS i just received Fallout 3 GOTY from a deal here today so may spend a few months playing that :w00t:

This title makes MW2 look oh so poor in comparison. However, I am playing it on high end kit which enhances it to no end.

I'm assuming that you mean on your PC. Looking at the vids on youtube the 360 looks to have better graphics.

truthfully COD is a better one player game but BFBC2 is the better MP game and some one quoted on here a while back COD is a 1 player game with MP whereas BFBC2 is a MP game with a single player element.
online play for COD MW2 approx 6 - 7 hours (bought in Feb/March)
online play for BBFC2 almost 4 days (got just before Easter break)
#23
Just to pick up on something above: in BFBC2 you don't have to walk very far as you can spawn right behind your squad-mates wherever they happen to be on the map. As long as they aren't complete numpties, they should be somewhere close to the action.

I'm sorry but I do not remember the price Sainsburys were selling Spilt/Second, I don't think it was £24.99 though otherwise either I or another member would of posted it or at the very least I would of remembered  - I am going shopping today so I'll have a look and let you know by updating this post and PMing you.

Great game and good price, its been £28 in my local tesco for a week or two now with 800 free points i also saw it in my local asda at £24.99 so not that great a deal.

As for the MW2 vs BFBC" debate Im the opposite, ive played MW2 online for 9 days in total since day of release! MW2 is not meant for Realism its a fantastic fun game to play online with mates, has lots of customisable options to play with many varied different game styles. If i have guys running round with tactical knives then i alter my own gameplay style and i deal with them. I get tired of people complaining about them your probably only complaining because your not good enough to take them out! I dont see them winning FFA very often and they only muck up a TDM game for their team as they get killed as much as they kill! so they just cancel themselves out! Nuke boosters are a pain but again i enjoy spoiling their fun! just get on with it and enjoy what is a fantastic game!

I own BFBC2 myself and play it now and again nline, i wont get rid of it for a while and if you want realism then BFBC2 is more for you but it doesnt make it a better game! all down to personal choice and personally i like to have more fun than realism so its MW2 i keep going back to more.

am i good enough? no not really but i know people that are better than me who have killstreaks of 50+ who think its a farce that you can kill someone with a knife whilst not being in reach nad this is just one of the many compaints that they have for MW2

Yes Commando pro is a farce, especially when you feel like your on a lasoo and they are roping you in but it happens every now and then, i was playing online from 5pm yesterday till 2am this morning and i could count on one hand how many times it happened! It did cheese me off mind when it did but im not gonna stop playing it because of that and despite these guys doing it i was in the top 3 most of the night so it cant be all bad! In fact my biggest gripe seems to be the fact that after a certain time at night the hosts all seem to be from overseas which means i get shot often from people shooting round corners!

hi guys i completed the single player mode today after 4 days of playing it. Single player is way better than MW2... amazing graphics and better storyline. Now when i play multiplayer i love it cos im so used to the controls.. got top of the lead in multiplayer after completing single player!

Bit the bullet and got the game earlier today, got to say a big thanks to you guys - this is an amazing title!

Hi there, apologies for not getting back to this thread - to be honest I didn't end up going shopping that day but I did today and checked (as well as doing the necessary shopping obviously).

My local Sainsburys has Split/Second Velocity priced at £39.99.

You might want to keep an eye on GameGears' twitter page for they recently tweeted their plans on selling the game at a competitive price.
