Got to 464° last time. I think it's still the cheapest way to get this game new.

Sorry I didn't realise this had been posted at least it'll act as a reminder for those who missed it it was a month ago. Yeah its definitely the cheapest with mainstream availability. There is a post quoting £19.99 at HMV but I've checked a number of branches and each has quoted £29.99 in XBOX360 & PS3 formats, so I believe that to be quite store specific.

I got up to third prestige on MW2 and thoroughly enjoyed it however it started running dry, BFBC2 offers a more unique and unpredictable match and is much more team based than MW2, its not as polished at the levelling system, team balancing and graphics could all be improved but if I had to choose between the two I'd go for BFBC2.

Thanks for the replies guys! I only play FFA on-line anyway! Ha ha.

They are both not even in the same league as the Battlefield series.
Destructible enviroments, lots of vehicles, amazing realism in every way, and it needs more strategy and teamwork to play unlike Rambos in COD.
Been playing Battlefield since Battlefield 2: Modern Combat and never found a FPS that can beat it.

Quidco tracking has confirmed within three hours for those worrying.

This is a "good deal" is it ?
#13
Hot Deal, as it's seems to be the cheapest price available.

However, I downloaded the Multiplayer Demo for this from XBOX Live before the Game was released and it was dreadful. I forget what the Game Mode was called but it wasn't a straight up Team Deathmatch, which would have probably been the simplest thing to put on the Demo as most people know how to play in a TDM. Also, it wasn't explained what the Objective was or even where that Objective was to be located on the Map!? All of the Weapon Classes seemed weak somehow and you found yourself randomly spawned into a Game not knowing who were team-mates and who were enemies.

Needless to say I deleted the Demo off my Console within the hour. I would love there to be a respectable rival to the Call Of Duty series but at the moment there simply isn't one.

Its the cheapest for the product at the moment and in my opinion good value for what you get.

I think the same with any game it requires a little time to understand the game dynamics but I think that's what makes the game so good. I enjoyed CoD but after gaining a 3.0 k/d ratio and earning the animated nuke call sign there was nothing to go back for, it was just number churning. Being a Rambo on BFBC2 earns you nothing, which is what attracts me to the series, I would thoroughly advise putting a few hours in as the reward is great in my opinion, both great games just this is a little less linear. :{

This is the trouble with COD players, no attention span. Dude, you need to give it more than an hour, it's a grower. Battlefield is more tacticle and thoughtful. You need to take time to learn the maps, unlock the better weapons, find out what class suits you. Plus vheichles!. It's just a much bigger and more in-depth game than COD. Team deathmach is in there but it's dull compared to Rush and Conquest.

Respectable rival to the Call Of Duty series... way superior.

No. It's not really that cheap is it. Loads of newer games have been reduced alot lower than this.

So you compared a demo to a full game and preferred a full game?
You need to actually spend some money and do a real comparison before you realise that COD is rubbish compared to Battlefield.

I thought the beta was pretty good, on the PS3 platform at least.
I don't think it is a very complicated game especially after playing Killzone 2 online, now that game is confusing.
My advice is run with a squad otherwise you will spend most of your time running to the objective.

My favourite online game ever!

To reply to the people that commented on my previous post, the obvious purpose of all Game Demo's is to attract potential new customers into purchasing the Game.

I was saying that from my experience of playing the Demo for an hour, which is a fair amount of time, the Developers didn't make BFBC2 an easy Game to like for the reasons I recorded in Post #13. Therefore, it wasn't worth spending £40 on at the time.

A couple of people have inferred that I didn't want to enjoy the BFBC2 Demo because I compared it to Call Of Duty. However, the fact that I Downloaded the Demo for BFBC2 shows that I was willing to consider an alternative to MW2.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and MW2 can become very boring sometimes, I just felt that the BFBC2 developers could have done a lot more to convince me to buy their Game from what they showed in their Demo.

What do you want DICE to do? Give you half a game for free or something?

To Tactical Tom,
There will never be a 100% of people who like a game, personally I never liked any of the Final Fantasy games and look how many people would disagree with me on that.
The map provided in the beta is, in my opinion, one of the best maps in the game and I still enjoy it despite the numerous hours that I put into the beta. So perhaps this isn't a game for you.

As you say everyone is entitled to their opinion and I agree that an hour is just about enough to decide whether you like a game or not, there is an odd exception to this (Demon's Souls being a classic example). Team work though can make or break the enjoyment of this game...again IMO.

agreed, but it is a pain when you are the only one out of an entire squad that disables the bomb cos the others are only interested in their kill/death ratio

It's not the amount of content in the BFBC2 Demo I had an issue with, it was the fact that it seemed unfriendly to new users for the reasons below:

The Demo didn't provide a simple Team Deathmatch Mode, which would have been a good way of breaking new players in. The Objective Game type which players were placed into was confusing to the new BFBC players because there seemed to be no indication of what the Objective was, or where the Objective was to be located on the Map. There also seemed to be no way of knowing who were team-mates and who were enemies.

Without these key features in the BFBC2 Demo, it would be more difficult for the Game developers to persuade new users to spend their money on purchasing the Full Game.

I hope this clears up your confusion.

:)

Getting bored of MW2 now so this is a prefect replacement before the new MoH.

Objective mode is as simple as it could get, attack the crates or defend the crates, simples.
And Dice have always focused on this mode since the first Bad Company game.
And people can play the game how they want to play it, you can camp 10 miles away in the mountains and get 2 kills per game, or you could be Rambo and get 50 kills per game, you can jump in vehicles and shoot away etc, nobody needs to follow the objective if they want.

The Objective Game type which players were placed into was confusing to the new BFBC players because there seemed to be no indication of what the Objective was

What those two big objective icons on the screen you mean? And the big flashy crates with sirens?

or where the Objective was to be located on the Map. There also seemed to be no way of knowing who were team-mates and who were enemies.

Objectives are located, and the team-mates are highlighted whereas the enemy are not. Again..simples

Without these key features in the BFBC2 Demo, it would be more difficult for the Game developers to persuade new users to spend their money on purchasing the Full Game.

There are soooo many games that let out a rubbish demo with the full game being great.
GTA4 for example has never had a demo, yet pulled in loads of sales. and there is a big list of these examples.
