This was £69 on Amazon before Christmas. Missed the window then, so I can't bring myself to pay more now.

I had never watched this before being given the opportunity to watch from the very beginning on Sky Atlantic... A great series! Whether I would purchase this is a tricky issue, if I can watch it for free, and would i want to watch it (so many) more times to make it a hot deal.
I have voted hot, based on the price compared to other stores, and for the fact that this series is frackking good!
Thanks!

Complete Series 1-5 ???

Thought this stopped at Season 4 - what is the extra series or is that just an error in the description?

Not sure if this is the seasons 1-4 and then the final season?? I am only at season 2 (Sky Atlantic) so not entirely sure how many there are!

Season 4 was split in two, I think. And released on DVD like that, I think.

It's a really annoying little practice the US TV studios have begun, ending a series part way through on a cliff-hanger & picking up again later in the year but within the same series.
It means that if you buy say season 4 seperately you aren't, you're getting 1/2 season 4 and then have to buy the 2nd half seperately.
Bl**dy con job if you ask me.

I loved this series but as herosfan says, it'a always on Sky somewhere and series link means you can gather them all fairly easily.

I'd like to buy it but I know I'd probably very rarely watch it so heat for this price, it's as good as I've seen, but personally I'm not buying until it's under £30.

Is this the boxset which is considered the 'more complete' one? IIRC I saw people talking on here once about how one boxset didn't have all the feature-length episodes/movies.

Cold, Zavvi were knocking this out for £64 a few weeks ago

I think it's only fair that you let everyone in on your secret for time travel so that they too can go back in time and pick it up at that price. Face in palm.

Voted hot, great series.

Yeah, there are only 4 seasons. There was a long hiatus in the middle of season 4 because of the writer's strike and so the latter half of season 4 is sometimes (like in this box set) referred to as The Final Season as it was, technically, shot in the next TV season to the previous episodes. There's also the mini series, which was broadcast a year before Season 1 which, for some reason, is lumped in with Season 1 in this box set.

This box set includes everything except the last TV movie, 'The Plan'. While it's technically not complete, you're not missing anything.

I got it for free at Christmas. However, that doesn't help anyone else at this point in time so this is still a hot deal.

I agree with marshalex - irrelevant whether its the cheapest around at the moment its the best part of £20 dearer than deal posted 2 weeks ago, cold vote from me

I saw this in HMV about a month ago for 59.99 and it was the Blu-ray boxset..
I don't bother posting deals on here anymore as to many idiots voting hot for poundland deals and supermarket beans deals with a penny off getting to 500 degrees!

Anything decent just gets slated and voted cold, So people miss out on true bargains like the Bluray boxset I saw..

Great deal but are the separate releases not still cheaper due to their own price cuts at various places - if they have all the features may still be better deal. And as far as I know - I checked with staff - the £59.99 in HMV was dvd only at least in my store.
The gap between the 1st and 2nd half of season 4 still really gets to me. I think it was partly due to the writers strike but Ronald D Moore had time on his hands and completely re-wrote the final arc and honestly as much as I love the show, the original ideas where more epic and in keeping with what went before.

That's the current claim......which would be valid if it wasn't for the fact that they were releasing half seasons og BSG in the US long before season 4.

I'm sure I will watch this again from the start in a few years time.

Not sure I would pay £80 for this but given the volume of viewing, it's definitely vfm.
