Don’t be fooled by the .co.uk they are based in the Far East. I ordered something and it took forever and 3 days.

I agree that DVDi are just a bunch of muppets.

I emailed them SIX times over 1 week to cancel an order and then I get a order sent confirmation email from them - I have now sent further follow-up emails and received ZERO response.

I have received the item today from GIBRALTAR and it was only £5.74 but based on the above post, I doubt sending it back will do any good in getting a refund or even a reply.

Looking at the domain details of the website, it registered by a UK Individual, doesn't look like a professional outfit at all: http://whois.domaintools.com/dvdi.co.uk

DVDi are **** munchers, I ordered Hot Fuzz, cancelled it, got confirmation it had been cancelled, two weeks later it was sent, arrived this morning. So far I havn't been charged though so hope I got one up on them ;)

As for this deal they are selling the same selection as everywhere else for slightly more money :(

Smokin' Aces @ £5.93 seems a good deal on ASDA though delivery is "Usually despatched within 2-4 weeks"

Don’t forget the 10% discount code which is still valid and knocks the price down to £11.27:

I got mine from 4cheapcds....was very happy with it.

On the other hand, I've placed orders with Asda Entertainment before and ended up cancelling, as they simply didn't have the stock and expected me to just keep on waiting. Asda Entertainment = The Hut.

That's a weird link, that's a different company you listed.

There is a telephone listed for them in this previous old hkuddeals post BUT it appears to be dodgy based on reading the rest of the other post:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/161238/loads-of-hd-dvd-for-5-74-delivered-/showthread.php?t=161238&page=2

I've emailed them using: [email protected]">[email protected]; [email protected]">[email protected]; [email protected]">[email protected]; [email protected]">[email protected]; [email protected]">[email protected] but received no response whatsoever - I hope it wasn't a pricey item that went missing.

I think he thinks that people will re buy them on blu ray ultimately,

What makes these blu Ray bigots think future HD players will not play HDDVDs? There are already reviews for dual format players and expectation is they will be on th market in mass next year. Inbetween time we can buy DVDs collections like this for £13ish or pay £30+ in Blu Ray If availabale. Hmmm, let me think.

Because they're the same ps3 owners that tell everybody the 360 is carp ;-)

With loads of discs at £5 and a backup player available for £30 (the 360 add-on) just in case the one you've got packs up in a couple of years, I don't think HD-DVD is a bad investment.
Of course, that won't stop me getting Blu-ray, probably before the year is out (or HD-DVDs at £5 run out - whichever happens first, I guess).

And HD-DVDs for £5.93 from Asda.
Hmm.....Now we know how much Asda get from HMV selling the discs for them (same discs are £4.99 on the extremely similar looking HMV site :)

Never post when you are drunk mate!

I am intrigued as to how it will cost me more money in the long run, are all the retailers I have purchsed from over the past few months going to come back to me and demand more cash?

I reckon that once the current offers have dried up there will be a healthy resale market on ebay for these disks so I expect to get my cash back.

Hes drunk because the bluray fanboys have to find some way of blocking out those voices in there heads saying "HD DVD's for a fiver...............HD DVD's for a fiver"

When they sober up they all run out and buy Bluray discs at £22 !!!!
we should feel sorry for them:p

As a backup option then dvd.co.uk have had it at £14.99 delivered for a while now

I eventually got mine after about a month from DVDi, ( posted in Gibralta), they have craftily started to charge 99p for insurance. Again having cancelled 2 further orders with no response, and their online contact us seems to have disappeared.

I will not use again.

Worth contacting your credit card company with problems.
#27
Have they released series 2 and 3 on HD-DVD?

I bet we deffo won't be seeing series 4.

I'm gonna wait and get series 1-4 on Bluray me thinks.

You were lucky with your order, I presume you just ordered the 1 dvd.

I have ordered 6 HD dvds in the past 6 weeks and have only received one, and I had to order that twice, despite them having stock! (BSG).

Stupidly if you order more than 1 DVD they will not despatch until they have stock of all.
I ordered 3 together and they cancelled the order after 21 days because one of the 3 was still not in stock. They could have sent the 2 in stock, but would not do so, they just cancelled without telling me which one they could not supply!!! telling me I would have to re-order.

Since then they have not replied to queries or cancellation emails as I could have got some of the other 5 from HMV. I think they (DVDi) are in trouble..
