Just noticed that Sendit (and group) have dropped the price of this boxset. The best price previously was £54.97 (as per amibees post a few weeks ago). So, if you were waiting for that decent price to drop a bit further, well, now's your chance.

Unlike some other territories which are releasing Battlestar Galactica as Season 4.0 and Season 4.5, the UK are following Sky1s broadcast transmission, whereby the first 10 episodes are Season 4 with the remainder next year as The Final Season, a sneak peek of which is featured on the Season 4 DVD release.

Synopsis
Battlestar Galactica balances its striking special effects with character-driven drama and social commentary to create a show that's both entertaining and relevant. This critical favourite re-imagines the cult series from the 1970s with a new cast and more impressive villains. It also eschews the sunny outlook of Star Trek in favor of a darker vision of space and humanity as it comments on issues such as terrorism and civil liberties. Androids called Cylons have massacred billions of people, leaving only a small group of survivors. Led by Oscar nominees Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell, the human fleet searches for a mythical planet called Earth as they evade the Cylons. Features the first four series of the show, which includes the Battlestar Galactica mini-series and the extended episode 'Razor.'

Like I say; similar price in The Hut group if you (Quidco) prefer

*Also, and thanks to Broadsword for this tip (till midnight tonight) using the 10% deduction (QUIDCO10) at LoveFilm you an get it for £41.34. However, reading through the thread about the 10% code it seems a bit hit and miss as to whether it will work or not. But gotta be worth a try.

Cheaper at lovefilm if you use the 10% off code QUIDCO10.

Comes out at £41.34.

Sits back and waits for the rep. :D

I kinda got a bit sidetracked towards the end of season 2 of this. Loved season one but thought it was getting too serious and couldn't keep concentrated enough so lost interest. Will pick this up after this current season and there is a complete boxset available.

I believe season 5 is the last is it not.

I'm surprised it got past the pilot. This has to have been the most awful sci fi series for a long time. I found it incredibly disjointed and I gave up watching it in the end. Yet I managed to watch all of and enjoy Star Trek DS9, Voyager and Enterprise. Bring back Enterprise it was better than Battlestar any day.

Still vote hot though as it is a good deal if you like the series :)

There, I'm not all bad...

Gosh, disjointed isn't the word I would associate with it.

You did watch the miniseries first didn't you?

The fact you enjoyed Enterprise perhaps says more about your tastes than BS lol Its the best arcing storyline sci-fi series since Babylon 5 in my opinion. Great characters, some wonderful episodes although the one thing I will say is at times it can be a little confusing but all is being slowly revealed which is the joy of it, wanting to find out whats going on.

However having said all that I'm voting cold as its incomplete, seems kinda daft buying this then having to buy another set with just 10 episodes to complete it. No doubt thats why its going cheap as the "complete" set will come out shortly.

This will be the first 10 episodes of season 4. I think the remaining 10 are now being labelled season 5..

Why wasn't the mini-series called Season 1? Bought the first Season and suddenly had 'previously on Battlestar Galactica' - it's the first Season !!!!

I'm not sure about the content's of this new boxset. However I can tell you that when season one was released in the UK it was comprised of four disc's WITHOUT the mini-series. The US however got a five disc set, with disc one being the mini-series.

Even though it's going to cost me a lot more money I'm personally holding out for the BD release which should be out fairly soon. According to the BBFC several extra's have just been certified 15. These are extra's nowhere to be seen on the UK dvd's.
