Yes, you have to be up with the lark to catch the best deals. The website says you can always phone ahead to check stock availability to save yourself a wasted journey.

Had the chicken soup yesterday and was really disappointed with how watery it was compared to Heinz

Heinz is thicker - which is why they're 95p individually or around £3 for 6. If you're counting the pennies Baxters isn't a bad option.

I like the Baxters especially for that reason - it's not full of thickeners like the other brands, more like real broth. Ah well each to their own!

Adding a little cheap thickener makes almost no difference to the price.

Broth is thin and a stock based soup , scotch broth is the same . Chicken soup like Heinz is cream/milk/ thickener based . Two totally different things .

I got a few deals from poundstrecher for 10p including pasta sauce and popcorn, I didn't realise until I got home that they are all out of date. I know you can use stuff that's dated, just maybe an idea to check before stocking up.

Thanks for the tip. Personally I'd not be too bothered with tinned items as long as not loo long over date as can last for years.

All the 10p deals that are being posted from Poundstretcher are all short dated or out of date items. That's why they're 10p.

If you look for one of these items, but it's full price, check the date. If it's out of date it will most likely be 10p as they don't put prices up for all the short dates 10p items.
