Brilliant game great price, you'd have to be mental not to give it a shot at this price.

I agree - this is one of the games of the year - I can't believe how much it has dropped in price since January.

Fantastic reviews all round (including a 10/10 from Edge):

Amazing game, I paid £15 for mine second hand from CEX
Gorgeous and funny!

i only paid £25 for this pre-owned about 3 weeks ago :(

Thanks OP

Bit of a Marmite game I think. There seem to be those who REALLY like it and those who REALLY don't.

Personally I hated the button mashing and awful music amongst other things. I played for about 2 hours and didn't engage with the story, characters or gameplay... so gave it up.

Although the critics liked it, I think there were a lot of gamers (myself and 3 friends included) who were very disappointed.

Jost my opinion though, and a good price so heat added.

Excellent game, well worth a purchase at this price.

Heat added.

God nooooo...

Well i was going to sell my Ps3 but looks like i'll be keeping it for a couple more weeks

I was about to order for my PS3 then saw the IGN comments...

IGN

The 360 version is vastly superior to the PS3 version on a technical level, so PS3 owners fortunate enough to own a 360 should absolutely avoid the PS3 copy.

Can anyone back that up? if so i'll order on 360 instead
#11
The PS3 version is indeed very poor compared to the 360.
360 was what it was coded for, the PS3 was a cheap and nasty port
#12
If you have the choice, go for 360

The PS3 version is still excellent though

Ditto, i really wanted to like this game but i didn't, the music was so repetitive and reminded me of hotel babylon on the bbc! i just couldn't get into it, maybe because i was also playing Uncharted2 at the time and that is what you call an awesome game.

But at a snip under £13 you cannot go wrong giving this a go so heat added for the deal:thumbsup:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-bayonetta-faceoff The 360 version is better because it was built around the 360 and hurriedly ported to PS3. It shouldn't effect game-play, it just looks prettier on the 360.

Given a choice, I'd choose XBox over PS3 because I find the pad more comfortable...when they say "vastly superior technically", it translates as "marginally superior graphically", as is usual when xbox has been the lead development platform and it has been ported over to the PS3.

well i cant find this offer on tesco site at all

A good price for what looks like a fun 10 - 15 hours play, very tempted...

Thanks, ordered. H=R :)

The update fixed the long loading times, which was great. I have played the game for over 10 hours on the PS3, and haven't noticed any problems with the graphics or gameplay, it all looks good to me. Some people spend more time looking into the intricacies of these things than me I guess.......personally I just enjoy playing the games ;-)
#23
thanks for the deal, seems to have great reviews so its worth a whirl. However I was also interested in Prototype, which seems to have a fast paced action style too, so any comments?
#24
How do you add to the basket - not showing in Safari
#25
IMHO one of the best games....ever! Funny, witty, sassy, ultra violent and hot to trot too.

This is the game that got me back into gaming even though I had all the gear and games sitting there.
With loads of deals from Hotukdeals I've picked up top titles such as COD MW2, Guitar Hero/Rock Band and most of the other AAA+ titles but I just never really played the X360 until Bayonetta came along.

If this doesn't get game of the year 2010 then there's something wrong with this universe and I think it should be scrapped and rebooted.

Hopefully with this price drop even more people will get to play this awesome game. Don't be a fool by missing out on this cracker of a game, especially at this price.

BUY IT!!!!!

Look at the reviews Bayonetta is in a different class, it's like comparing fillet steak to offal

Magnificent game, much better than Devil May Cry and a real challenge even on the "normal" difficulty setting. I installed it onto the hard drive on my PS3 and found it to be smooth and perfectly playable, graphics are good too, so PS3 owners shouldn't be put off.
Bargain at this price.

Heres hoping Tesco honour it. So far placed 3 orders and not one honoured

Wrong.

Loading times are better on the 360
Graphics have better resolution on the 360
Better AA on the 360
Better FPS (ESSENTIAL FOR BAYONETTA) on the 360 - never has frame drops.

So it is essential to get the 360 version if you own both systems since this game is fast and requires fast response, with frame rate drops on the ps3 you will be having a worst experience. The 360 version is not a bit better, it is a lot better.:whistling:

You have to be mental to play this game, its very weird. Enjoyed it for a while but just got bored eventually.

After the install patch the loading times and framerate are greatly improved for the PS3 version to be pretty much on par with the other version of the game..

As for it being essential to buy the 360 version.. that's balls unless you see yourself as some hardcore frame counting super gamer which is irrelevant to 99% of gamers out there. I played through this on the PS3 with the install and had no problems at all with framerate or load times :)

The 360 version is considerably better, but some of what you said here isn't true. Both versions of the game render natively at 1280x720. Neither version of the game utilises anti-aliasing. Loading times are superior on the 360 though (even after downloading the patch for the PS3 version that lets you install the game). The graphics/textures are better on the 360, and the framerate of the PS3 version is well below the 360's as it runs at less than 30 FPS on average during gameplay with some dips, while the 360 version stays close to 60 FPS. Both are locked to 30 FPS during cut scenes. You can definitely notice the difference if you compare the two side by side on your TV and if you have both consoles, buying the 360 version is a no brainer, unless you prefer games that don't perform as well, don't look as sharp, and take longer to load, lol.

The only good reason to buy the PS3 version if you own both consoles is if you MUCH prefer the Dual Shock 3 over the 360 pad and you put that above everything else. To say that 99% of gamers wouldn't care about obvious differences in the graphics and performance is just not true. Many gamers are probably unaware that there's any difference between the two versions, but if you showed them the game running on both systems on the same TV, they would have to be looking through very thick NHS specs not to be able to pick out which one is better, so why not just choose the better version?

Clearly the 360 version is the definitive version and if you have both consoles you should opt for that one. However these are all minor issues, and PS3 owners should not be put off. The game is fine when installed. None of these issues affect the playing of the game in any noticeable way and you'd never know that the game wasn't designed with the PS3 in mind unless you had played the 360 version.

You forgot that you can also install on the xbox 360-

anyways some facts:

Average FPS:
PS3 - 28
X360 - 46

Torn Frames: (%)
PS3- 45
X360- 32

Load Time 1: PlayStation 3 – 21 sec / Xbox 360 – 14 sec
Load Time 2: PlayStation 3 – 32 sec / Xbox 360 – 16 sec
Load Time 3: PlayStation 3 – 43 sec / Xbox 360 – 19 sec
Load Time 4: PlayStation 3 – 48 sec / Xbox 360 – 19 sec

''Although character models and most environments share the same texture quality, there are areas were the PlayStation 3 clearly has lower resolution textures. The Xbox 360 has the better lighting and sharper normal maps making for a more vibrant look.''

Face it, if you have both systems get it for the x360, it's not a minor difference, I initially rented the Ps3 version and hated it, but then I gave it a try on the 360 and really liked the game

Average FPS:

X360 - 46
You have to bear in mind that the cut scenes are locked at 30 FPS and are counted in the test, so that would have actually raised the PS3's average as it's below 30, but lowered the 360's, as it runs at close to 60 FPS during game play, but the 30 FPS cut scenes lower the average FPS overall. They should have omitted the cut scenes form the test, then the gap between the 360 and PS3 would be wider and a true representation of how the game runs when you're actually playing it, and not just watching a cut scene.

Wow fanboy much :whistling: The 360 version is superior (that's why I purchased that version) there's no doubting that, but it's still a great game on PS3.

Nope got both consoles and got deceived by PS3 fanboys to buying it for the ps3 since it would be ''basically the same'' and it isn't, so don't tell people that the games are the same on both platforms. The x360 version is better and so people should buy that one, the same way that Dragon Age Origins should be bought for ps3, fallout 3 for x360, FF13 for ps3, etc. It's about value for your money and I think it's useful to point out which version is better instead of generalizing and downplaying clear facts. :whistling:

Hang on a minute, I clearly said the 360 version is better, hell I even said I brought the 360 version for that exact reason. Not only that but I linked to a pretty comprehensive article comparing the two.

Learn to read

What I'm saying is the PS3 version is still a great game well worth buying at this price, not everyone can afford both consoles and choose which version to buy you know 8-)

Some people......*sigh*
