Thats a great price for a great little game..

Trade in for this game is £15 cash too on www.tradeyourgames.co.uk when you are finished with the game too so works out very cheaply. Its taken me a while to complete this though and I bought it at a little more expensive price too..

Fantastic game. Best game io have played this year so far....god of war 3 notwithstanding.....

Personal opinion.

I have this on the 360 and will get the ps3 version when it hits sub £10.
#3
got it for £18 from the HMV sale a few weeks ago.
still not sure. i dont hate it, but i dont love it.
its like a blend of final fantasy style cut scenes with a devil may cry fighting system.
instead of fighting off hundreds of minions to get to a boss, its more like boss after boss after boss.

Played this all the way through and thought it was ok, but it is just one Boss after another. Some good parts but not worth any more than £17.99 anyway. Sold mine on Ebay after finishing it as I defintely wouldn't bother playing it again. i think it is very overrated in my opinion.

One of the most boring repetitive games I have ever played.

Welcome to the world of Hack and Slash. ;-)

I'm still undecided about God of War collection for that very reason, I haven't bought the 3rd one yet either although I did like the demo.

The battle system of this game is nothing short of amazing, it is so fluid and he range of moves is almost daunting.

Everything else about this game is dross, Characters are abhorrent, Plot is beyond a joke...Couldn't believe it got ten out of ten in Edge, for me a great game is a package.

Not a patch on GOW in my opinion and thats judging off just the god of war collection. Saying that ive got the PS3 version and thats meant to be a lot worse than the 360 one . Good price anyway.

I absolutely hated this when I bought it a couple of weeks ago. Too many long loading screens, cut scenes and ridiculous enemies (what's that brazil nut with wings all about ?) Couldn't sell it on quick enough.

Really liked God of War 3 though.

Edge has produced some fairly 'interesting' reviews over the years, it can be slightly less than impartial when it comes to some publishers, although they're nowhere near as corrupt as Famitsu.

It is probably the second best games mag in Britain though and I have a long train journey tomorrow and I've already read this month's GamesTM so I'll probably end up buying it this month anyway I think. :)

Fabulous game, I really enjoyed it. Put in 30 hours of gameplay to 1000G it, but could have put in 40.

Definitely worth a purchase. I wouldn't say I'm a big fan of hack and slash, but after playing the demo, I thought it was worth a shot. Great game.

*edit* The plot just about makes sense at the end - Expand your mind and just go with it ffs, believe it or not there aren't real witches or monsters, so you have to let your imagination flow a bit...

The dialogue is also fair enough, with a few snappy, witty remarks and some entertaining cut scenes (which you can skip by the way).

I played the demo of God of War 3 and really enjoyed it from start to finish.

I played the demo of this and my reaction was basically just 'WTF' for want of a better expression. Don't quite get the hype myself, but then again I would almost say the same about Arkham Asylum and everyone else seems to love that so it may just be me.

Wondering the same thing really?

Is it basically just an envirofone type company, only for games?

It's got more twisted innuendos than Carry on at your convenience by all accounts.

If Sid James was in this then that would be awesome.

Not getting Gow collection for that reason and GOW 3 I didn't like the the demo's horrible fixed camera, annoying flying bit's and the hack and slash whack any button gameplay..

like the Splinter Cell one it's from E3 09, so by all accounts it's a much more polished and quality experience. But i'm gonna wait for the Trilogy set.
Games like this are only "whack any button" if you play like that, you can't play that way on the harder difficulty levels or certain enemies will just block every hit.

I actually don't think GOW is a whack any button kind of game. It definitely requires certain tactics to take certain enemies down. It gets loads better when you get used to the moves and combos.

By the way, I generally don't go for those kind of games. As I said, I hated Bayonetta. Not a fan of the Ninja Gaiden and Devil may Cry games either.

I quite liked the demo, I just think I would get bored with the game quite easily and it wasn't really offered cheaply anywhere before or after launch.

Saying that, the PS3 doesn't really have any other decent exclusives arriving over the next couple of months so maybe my perception might change slightly if I see GOW3 for around the £20-25 mark. I wouldn't pay anymore than that though.

I pre-ordered FF13 and then sold it to CEX 3 days after it arrived. Absolute tripe.

I think DMC and Bayonetta are more firmly aligned both being Japanese. Ninja Gaiden is slightly different as it's Team Ninja and the guy behind it is an antisocial nob who tries to make his games as rediculously difficult and unapproachable as possible. He also includes a lot of large chested women in there for good measure and is single handedly going to screw up the next Metroid.

God of War is slightly different in my perception in that I actually do find it interesting and fun to play, if not slightly repeatative.

What part of splinter cell conviction is hack and slash?, it's gone stealth very much like the MGS original.
Shame you don't have both consoles as you would of known that by being able to actually play the demo
And what has Splinter cell conviction that is not even available on PS3 got to do with anything?.

LEARN to read, or i'll get your posts deleted again.
I SAID that the demo is from E3 09 just like the SC:C one.
Only a numpty would think that SC and GOW were similar games if they'd seen them.
Are you going to put £10 on at Willy Hills that SC will not be going to PS3, no i didn't think so.
Don't start an argument for nothing. Or you'll prove what you are.

The best part of the SC:C demo is smashing that guy's face in in the carsey, the rest just felt slightly tacked on and more of the same to me although I do like the hint text that displays on the walls.

Was Splinter Cell ever on the PS2?

Yeh, the loading screens are a joke, even after installing the game to the hard drive. Apparently its not as bad on the 360 but I don't have one of those so its very annoying. It does get very repetitive and having just played my original PS2 copy of GOW2 that is by far the superior game.
I think you either love or hate these type of Japanese games. Heavy on style but I'm not sure about the gameplay....

Think it was but he posts everytime I post on anything to do with the PS3, the reason why he said about Splinter cell conviction s because I said it's a good game on a 360 deal for it.

no it's because you slated the demo for GOW, which as an opinion you are entitled to, i was just pointing out that it was from last years E3. a bit like the SC one

Played the demo and pre ordered . Don't forget demo is old from E3 09 so the game should look even more polished on release.

Yes and I played the Splinter Cell conviction demo and I like it even in it's current form, BUT I played the GOD OF WAR DEMO and I DON'T LIKE IT.
If that is ok with you...

That's the point i was making, you are entitled to your opinion, i was just saying the same thing you did about the SC demo for the benefit of others, i wasn't saying your opinion was wrong, just it was an old demo.
quit being defensive all the time.

I thought it was.

I quite liked Double Agent but I never really got into the last gen ones. I think in many ways it's a poor man's western version of MGS anyway. :whistling:

I sold them a couple of cheapo xbox 360 games that had been laying around gathering dust - sent them in following their instructions and everything was processed within a day of receipt. Good service and they kept on emailing me to keep me updated - the amount i got wasnt the greatest but better than I would have got elsewhere and i got it paid into my paypal account.

Innuendos = Win :thumbsup:

Also, I played the 360 version - loading times weren't much of a problem, but I believe the PS3 version is pants... So if you have the choice, get it on 360.

Decent price but more than £1 cheaper at The Hut
