Does anyone know how long these offers tend to last?

I have a subscription to Match of the Day magazine for my son which expires with issue 33. The offers are currently saying they will start with Issue 32.

the reason I'm interested is that the "proper" subscription price they are quoting is only £14.92 every 3 months, which is £3.43 cheaper than the subscription I'm being offered in my renewal reminder letters.

If I can wait another 10 to sign up to the offer, it'd suit me perfectly!

You can always use tesco clubcard vouchers for a lot of magazine subscriptions. 4 pound in money=1 pound in vouchers www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/browse.aspx?N=4294966467&bid=HMagazines

The trick is remembering to cancel your direct debit. I never feel 100% comfortable with these offers. If you don't tell the bank to cancel then you will automatically continue paying, and if you don't tell the magazine company before you cancel the DD then you could still "owe" them money (despite cancelling DD).

I laways cancel the direct debit as soon as they have taken the payment. Have never informed the magazine I am cancelling neither. No problems in the past 2 years I have been doing it!

I always cancel the D/d after the £1 goes.

I never tell the magazine company I want to cancle, they just stop sending after the 3 free ones.

Nice deal - heat and rep added.

Have used these before, and never had any problems with them - reputable people, and no problem to deal with.

Bit sneaky, sign up to good food for £13.95 for six months but if you take the three for £1 first its then £15.75 for six months. So better to cancel after three months and sign up for a new subscription from scratch.

Cheers, just signed up to Focus and History Mags

I always find this site the best for mag subscriptions :-
http://www.magsite.co.uk/store/index.php

They've got a lot more choice that the beeb subs, and never had a prob with cancelling after trial ends!

I subscribed to MOTD mag as soon as the direct debit was taken I cancelled it. They sent me a forth mag and now a letter asking for direct debit details as it was cancelled!

Under the terms of the offer you needed to cancel the subscription after the third issue, as well as the DD. They are now entitled to payment, unless you can persuade them to make an exception.
