And it's FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

You can subscribe to mailing list only for now, it won't be open for registration until April or so going by last year setup and then most tickets will go to Kentonian's only I believe with the rest of the UK getting what is left.

Live in central london, will hopefully get some!

Yay, the 5th year running that its going to be nowhere near I live!! Thanks Radio 1, really appreciate it.

How about doing 4-5 smaller weekends dotted around the country rather than 1 big one per year!!

Voted hot all the same as its a free concert effectively. Just winds me up every year this does!

doubt it,

if its in kent, they'll send the majority of tickets out to like, KE1 postal addresses (or whatever kent is). they'll send like, 5% of the tickets out to KE2-KE22 (for example), and another 5% out to the rest of the UK.

So unless youre in the centre of kent, dont count your chickens.

Lat year, me and all my family/friends lived at PR4, about 4 miles away from Preston... out of 8 applications nobody got any.

By all means, apply, but if I were you I'd look for somebody with a KE1 postcode who doesnt want to go...

lol, just as I typed that, I remembered my sister had just moved to kent. hmm :\
#8
ME postcodes would be closest. TN may also be useful
banned#9
disclaimer: I dont have a clue how they'll structure the postcode thing (or what Kents postcodes are), just needed to advise how they've run it for the last year and will be running it this year :)
#10
Voted hot because it is a free concert for those that get to go. However for the rest of us it means radio one will be going on and on about it until may and then a couple of weeks afterwards. Plus the music might sound amazing live but on the radio just sounds pants as you can hardly hear what's going on. they also need to get rid of moyles and have sarah cox doing his show, moyles irritates the life out of me.

maidstone os ME12 ish... ME1 is rochester... ie the first few ME's are medway towns
banned#12
There you go, so if you dont have a maidstone postcode, find someone who does or your chances of going are about 1 in 20 based on last year.
#13
well im me4 so i stand a reasonable chance then.
#14
ME14 is the Centre of Maidstone ;)
#15
Thanks~nan lives in Kent so worth a try.........
#16
Wahey ME14, I have a pretty good chance then :D
#17
I haven't been to Mote Park since I was a kid (I remember there used to be molehills all over the place!!!)

I've got a TN postcode...and my folks are ME8. Fingers crossed!

i applied last year with PR1 where i live, pr4 where my parents live and didnt get any either.

Voted Cold as it is a lottery and is pure luck if you get tickets.
It's not really a deal, it's a lottery. Plus they say it's free but doesn't all come out of out T.V license fee???
#20
Thanks for information

Thanks voted hot!!! those who applied last year can you remember how many tickets per household were allowed?
#23
Several years ago, my friend and her children and myself and my nephew queued up over night to get tickets when Radio 1 came to Birmingham. (that itself was a great laugh) :)

A few years ago myself and my sister and her friend went to the Radio 1 roadshow in Kettering. Peter Powell was there and I won a sticker with 'I Shot JR' on it.

It was in Dundee 2 years ago and people with DD2 postcodes were told they would get first chance NOT TRUE no one in my street or surrounding streets got tickets altho we could hear the noises we were so close.

i went last year to this festival and it was FAB! and FREE!
i dont know how im going to get tickets for this one tho as i live in yorkshire!!!!!
#32
hot

as its a free gig

im sure the line up will disappoint, but if its good i'd go.......if not id give my tickets to someone who would appreciate the bands playing
#33
No where near me sadly, but went last year and it was ace! Definitely recommend applying for tickets if you can :)
#34
Its not really free - its essentially a competition and if you are drawn out of the hat you get a prixe - a ticket. Its therefore a competition and shouldnt really appear here otherwise it would open the flood gates to every other competition available.
#35
Just stick your real address down i.e. 25, Northumberland Street, Newcastle upon Tyne then put a Kent post code after it. The tickets will be delivered eventually! :-)
#36
If it goes by how close you are to the Radio One Big Weekend i must really be in with a good chance as i live 30 seconds away from the park. I am not giving out the postcode as it is not fair on all the others.
#37
i live in maidstone- aysleford me20
cant wait
hope i get a ticket tho
scouting for girls omg
cant wait
#38
it said on radio one they want to give the tickets out to people that live in maidstone and on the outskirts but if they have left overs they may give some to random places
#39
I live in TN9 which is about a half hour away, if that.

I'm glad they do it by poscode - it's not fair is someone in glasgow can go (or can get tickets to flog on ebay) and the locals can't!

This is the first time anything fun has come to kent in ages so i'm dead excited :D

Could you/would you realistically travel from Newcastle to Maidstone for one day out though?! It's always up north, give us southerners a chance for once!
