Some of these can be bought cheaper elsewhere, these are not necessarily the cheapest but where I would buy them from for the best service and peace of mind, and currently all of these offer free delivery ...

Top Gear box dvd set (BBC £8.25 was £29.35) ... £6.99 at HMV

Little Britain dvd series 1-3 (BBC £10.24 was £39.14) ... £7.98 at Amazon

The Office: Complete Box Set (DVD) (BBC £16.25 was £39.14) ... £9.99 at play.com

How much do they want for Jonathan Ross? ITV may jump in if he’s 70% off.

Are they tv license deductable?, considering we financed them in the first place.
#11

Good riddance, the man was grossly overpaid and overstepped the mark.

Why is the licence fee so extortionate when the BBC make shedloads of money from merchandising and dvds.

Bet all the profits go into some fatcats pocket even though we fund them.

wud rather ross had the money than the scum bags at top of management. it doesn't take any talent to spend money you get on a plate...

hopefully he moves to ITV where he can get paid as much as he wants without daily mail readers ousting him out of his pay out of jealousy

What, like Jonathan Ross?

Got to say I'm incredibly glad to see the back of him. Should have happened a long time ago...the only disappointing thing is Graham Norton will almost certainly take his place... Personally think the whole chat-show thing is a bit old...much better if they put the money into new comedies...

Yes the first £138 quids worth of DVDs are free, and then you start paying. Or at least, that's how it should be....

Never really liked Ross as a chat show host, but his radio show was hilarious. Shame he got the boot, wonder whats become of his mate who flew in from Spain every week to help him on it?

Personally I think the BBC is fantastic value for money. Doctor Who, Coast, radio 4, CBeebies, the website, MOTD, Radio 5, Newsnight, Spooks, Children of Earth, Horrible Histories, Horizon, Question Time and so on and on and on. And, yes we pay for the programmes that are then sold on Dvd but without the profits from such sales we would be paying more on the licence fee each year. Not a popular view on here I know but we are so lucky to have the BBC. If you don't think so, try watching US telly for a day.

Hi. There are 2 types of question of sports games. One which is £2.75 made in 2006 and another which is £3.75 made in 2007. Can someone tell me the differences between the 2 please and which one is better. Thanks

By similar reasoning, should Sky Sports subscribers be allowed into Premiership football matches for free? :-D

The first one contains footage from the studio where as the second one is a bit like a powerpoint presentation. If your going to buy one, get the first one, its good.

There's a flaw in your logic sky has shared viewing rights to air premiership matches the bbc's Tv license fee funds the production of the material being sold in their online shop.

I fail to see your comparison?, I suppose you could argue that the fee paid to sky by the subscriber is then used by sky to buy the premiership rights and in turn is used by the premiership to stage the games but that would be a very thin arguement.

It never ceases to amaze me when people stick up for the bbc, although they do generally fall into one of two categories. Idiots and trolls:thumbsup:

Thanks RKRK. I will go for the 1st one then. I hope I know most of the answers since this is a bit old.

Yeah, know what you mean. I tend to call them ' people who have a different opinion to me' though. Still I'm sure your way works for you!

To be fair he didn't get the boot. He just didn't go into negotiations to renew his contract.
