yes but the dc59 is a handheld to do the stairs as well.

Not a good product. No suction
It was a best buy in Which report on cordless vacuum cleaners so to say it has no suction is a bit harsh!

I get it on Monday and going by the 8.8 out of 10 for reviews and it lasting 3 times longer on battery life has more capacity. Good thing is I have no stairs

A straw with a breast pump would be better than a Dyson

I own one and it's got fantastic suction, maybe yours has a fault.

After the quote from southlondonboy it has made me hesitate from getting one and am now looking at

Which have not tested the Vax U86 but the Vax U91-LF-B Life they tested got very poor results, scoring 42%. Both Bosch cordless vacuums were considered to be best buys and scored 78-80%. My experience is that I rarely need to go to full power as the suction is so strong.

I have basic needs but just wanted something lightweight and cordless. I have enough money to buy the DC59 at £279 currently in John Lewis but don't think it warrants the price when it only has a certain run time. The bosch certainly looks good and with the £50 discount from Homebase made it even more attractive however I am now reading reviews about the filter light coming on and a **** to empty. Its being delivered tomorrow morning the only reason I have now looked at the vax is because its £150 off its rrp on ebay all be-it refurbished but like new in which I would of thought for the price would out perform the dyson and the bosch. I been using a DC08 since its birth and still find I can run my fingers across the carpet and still pick fluff up. I am a cat owner. I live in a 1bed flat so really what I get tomorrow should be good enough. I like the look a lot and its high rating from people who have brought it. Hope I am impressed. Thanks jbigguy for your help

Works perfectly, can hear the bits being picked up. Easy to move around. Easy to assemble and empty. Well reccomended
