This is the cheapest I've ever seen this Blu-Ray player. The link on the home page was for "Today Only", so I'm guessing the deal won't be here tomorrow. I'm very tempted, Christmas present here we come! :-)

Note that this is the up to date model, the S360, not the S350 that has been previously seen around this price...

I do agree but the £5 off code does work on that so it's only £30 difference

cool, was always going to happen sub 100 blu ray, less hassle than with the free disks too as i'd only have to sell them..

This will certainly help blu ray to go mainstream :) (which in turn brings down blu ray prices)

Hi,

Anyone know how to make it multi region for DVD’s yet?

Thanks

I think the 'old' hack [via a 'One for All' remote] for the 350/550 works OK for this....http://www.avforums.com/forums/10674457-post916.html

Old hack for 350 does work for multiregion DVD.

Still won't play Region A Blurays sadly or I'd buy one at this price in a minute.

This is a great machine for playing DVDs too of course at it'll upscale via HDMI.

is this better picture Quality than watching it on the ps3

£94.99.... decisions decisions. This has been a very expensive month.
If I still had my Lovefilm subscription this would be a must have purchase.

Nice starter for £9.95 www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/11514447/Fight-Club/Product.html

What if your surround sound is 5.1, does this work on a 7.1 Blu Ray player?
#23
hot! Thx op.

Bargain - to get a frontline budget player for this price is fantastic.yes, budget players will get cheaper. but as those newer models are brought in, their quality will, in no way, be as good. same as happened with dvd players.

a steal. can't see it being much cheaper even in the sales....

I don't think so but I am not an expert in such things.

The PS3 costs a great deal of money for Sony to manufacture and is sold at a loss
(less so now due to the slim version). Sony make up their money via games and accessories. It seems to me you are getting a very powerful and easy to update blu-ray player in a PS3. I think you would be looking at top-end players before you are outperforming the PS3.

That said, this is still a good deal!

Was also going to post, ordered one!

The majority of users at AV Forums are of the opinion that it out performs the PS3 as with they did with the 350 with many PS3 users ditching the PS3 and moving to the standalone Blu-Ray

Thanks for your input, i will take that on board cheers. i think i will just stick with the ps3 for now.

Good deal  but what is the after sales service like with Play if anything goes wrong with it? I've only ever bought cheap stuff like T-shirts, books, headphones, etc, and haven't had to return anything yet.

Also referring to another question, would the PS3 actually have a better picture than this dedicated player, seeing it is mainly a games machine? :?
#29
Well someone posted is it better than the PS3 so...

I would imagine the differences are fairly minor, but this will probably offer superior DVD playback. Fairly likely that it will also be quieter and use less electricity.

This is an excellent player but it is a budget unit, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if there are actually a few mass produced PS3 parts inside to increase economies of scale.

Cheers to the OP. Ordered at £95.

Saw this player with 4 films in Blockbusters for £149.99.

Spent Sunday afternoon going through my DVD/game collection thinking of what to trade to bring the price down a bit. Lucky it rained all day so I didn't get around to going at the end.
