I've been looking at the prices of the Dre Beats PRO's as I'm considering purchasing a pair.

I've noticed these are significantly cheaper on the French Amazon site in comparison to the English site (currently at £349.00 on UK site for the same Black/Silver variant). The cheapest variant on the UK site are the white ones at £279.99, which is not a desirable colour as it gets dirty in no time!

You may be able to purchase them at a cheaper price if you pay using Euros and let your bank convert the currency for you?

On eBay refurbished Beats PRO headphones are selling for around £180 but they are not guaranteed to be the genuine article (lots of fakes knocking about that look just like the genuine versions).

Thought this may help somebody who may be in the market for a pair of over-ear headphones.

Haha same voted hot because I felt sorry, this site has raging hatred for beats. Never post a beats deal unless it's a super hot cyber Monday deal.

Haha! Are Beats that bad!? If so what over-ear headphones do you recommend for powerful bass? Many Thanks :-)

Sennheiser rs120. Can't go wrong with them, wireless, rechargeable, bass, dock, stylish and £99

They are not that bad if you like listening to HipHop and certain styles of R&B, but they are just not set up for people who like real music, they just don't work well with other genres.
It's a question of your preference. You can go to a HMV shop and try them all out against other brands and the difference is plain obvious. If you like Jay Z or Kanye West and no other styles then you might actually get along OK with Beats.

Perhaps they are cheaper in France because the French have more sense? Jusr saying, obviously cheaper because they don't sell as well as here.

These are as much stylish fashion accessory for cool people as decent headphones. Some people pay over £100 for a pair of jeans or many hundreds for a hand bag etc. The people who vote cold are just envious of these sort of people but will never admit it.
#8
poppycock simulcura, I have a pair of noise cancelling Bose headphones that are far superior to any "beats". sennheiser are generally the choice of the professional and beats are purely a marketing success.
#9
As I said...Beats are more fashionable. Just accept it.

I and many other would take sound quality over fashion in a set of headphones.

we're not all aspirational morons. If I had money to waste I like to think I'd be able to see through marketing hype and make my own mind up on the basis of what my ears tell me. It's for this reason beats are just defacto rarely ever a good deal, because the price tag is mostly marketing hot air.

OK - Just humour me for a minute, and try to think of it this way...
An 'entry level' handbag from, for example, Louis Vuitton is around (quick Google) £200. You could without doubt buy something just as good, if not much better and for less money from Debenhams.
A pair of Armani jeans is (quick Google) around £140. Again, I am sure a pair of jeans for around £30 in Debenhams is just as comfortable.
A pair of Beats headphones is £215 (down from £315, which to all but the most retarded, is still a hot deal)). You can of course buy cheaper headphones that are just as good. And considering most people are listening to music in MP3 format or via DAB, they probably couldn't tell the difference anyway.

So the point is - why on earth buy a Louis Vuitton bag, or a pair of Armani jeans? - it's because people like the style, they like owning expensive branded gear, and they can afford it. Beats headphones are all of the above.
The sound quality of Beats headphones is actually quite good (IMO, having actually heard a pair, admittedly from an MP3 source) , they certainly aren't 'crap' by any means (listening to them in HMV or Currys does not qualify you to judge, sorry). Can you get better sound quality for the money, yes almost certainly. Will they be as stylish, maybe not.
Apple and Beats products always get voted cold. But you should look beyond the 'popular' brand (that you may choose to not like) and vote on whether or not the money off is a hot deal. £134 off a pair of Beats headphones is, be logical definition, a hot deal, whether you personally happen to like the product or not.
It's a shame the cold voters simply don't understand this and spoil the system.
Calling someone who buys high end branded items an 'aspirational moron' just highlights the level of your intellect. -don't you own anything popular?
Anyway...apologies for my attempt at common sense and reasoning - as you were.

The points you make are valid. Unfortunately, even at reduced price they do not give good value for money, as a lot of your examples don't give good value. Crucially, having seen many people wearing these, I feel that invariably they make them look like a K--b. Good value if you want them for that purpose!!!!
#19
I have also seen people wearing Beats of course, and I have to say they fit with their chosen style perfectly.
If I wore them, I'd look a bit of an idiot (being 42 and bald), but that is no reason for me to not appreciate them for what they are, or call the people that buy them silly names.

Thanks for your help mate.

What's your thoughts on the V-Moda Crossfade M-100's? I could pick some up for £160 (£90 cheaper than Amazon and £50 cheaper than the Beats PRO's)

Any other suggestions that are better than the V-Moda's?

Many Thanks :-)
