these are the HD version and i think these are the cheapest at the moment but no doubt this deal will get cold if the last few beats headphones HMV deals are anything to go by and the fact that you can get better sounds from headphones half the price etc.

Remarkable price. Magical device. Hot.

Check these

They may be 'replicas' but rumour control says they are produced in the same factory on the 'ghost' shift & kicked out the back door. I have some & they're cracking at 1/3rd of the price.

Q: What does Dr Dre know about headphones?
A: Nothing.
Q: So who actually manufactures them for him?
A: Monster Cable Products Inc. A company that has never made headphones before. In fact Monster have something of a reputation for taking far east manufactured cables, putting them in a pretty box and overcharging for them. They have no presence in the pro-end of the industry and are discredited by the quality hi-fi industry. They are simply an overpriced commodity cable reseller.

Nice try Monster but I don't think the average consumer is that much of a mug. Mind you the HP tie-up with Dr Dre makes me question what was going through the heads of the execs at HP when they signed that deal.

Wait, people are paying hundreds of pounds for shoddy headphones. Maybe they'll pay hundreds of pounds more for our shoddy laptops"

Come now, Dr Dre produces such exemplary music, the sort of detailed, precise, tender, dramatic music that requires the very best headphones. They would have to to be of great clarity and range.

Surely.

Or maybe lots of bass.

Huh.

Obviously this is a marketing ploy, but you over estimate the public if you think average person knows this .. HP have got a good deal , with slick marketing its likely they'll do well out of the tie up ... especially in the states where Dr Dre's association will be worth more .... i agree with the comment about monster cable , but then again this can be said alot of companies in this sector .
