It was on the TV a couple of weeks back, the major supermarkets have warehouses full of unsold beer (summer barbecue washout)

There are some serious pre Christmas multi case deals on the horizon!
#8
37 p a can of strongbow cider. Oh lord thank you.
#9
Brilliant, will check my local Sainsbury on Friday (too busy tomorrow :-( ), hope that something will be left.
#10
i just stocked up, 60 bottles of grolsch for 20 quid, you cant go wrong with those prices
#11
How can you even contemplate drinking, let alone buying the cheaply made, but highly profitable, chemical ridden, UK brewed **** from these massive brewery corps. and supermarkets. They are brands you are drinking, not quality goods. Check out (for those of you in Lancs/Yorks) Booths supermarkets where you can enjoy tens of quality real-ale beers (many at 5% alc.) at only 99p per 500ml bottles. You will be supporting local UK breweries. For those outside the said counties, reject the wife-beating **** and go in search of some good old local nats-****. At least it won't kill you.

Sadly the small bottles in this promotion will be the UK brewed pap. Tescos own (Dutch brewed) premium lager tastes better frankly.
#19

#20

Whats going on??
#26
dont you just love a lecture about what you should and shoudnt drink. Thank you so much grahamclive you have enlightend me to the ways of the world which i appreciate and will of course take note and ensure I no longer drink beer unless i can trace its place of origin.

Thing is i am now going to buy at least 3 crates of chemically tainted grolsh and you never know i may grow an extra head.

Thanks again for starting my day in a postive manner and enjoy your day as i am going to enjoy mine drinking cheap beer.

I can see you are going to be a real asset to this site. I really hope you have a reliable internet connection, we wouldn't want to be without regular musings from the keyboard of the great grahamclive. I'll look out for more pearls of wisdom.

I am going to put my head over the parapet and say I agree with you grahamclive we need to support our local indiginous real ale/beer producers not just be satisfied with the cheap swill that seems to be most peoples drink nowadays.

If you want a lager try something like Duvel or Leffe Blond something that has had some thought and flavour put in to the brewing process.

Now I suppose I had better stand firm for all the abuse I am going to get.....bring it on

Find these so-called lovely ales at bargain prices and post them on here, why don't you? This is a bargain forum not some watering hole for CAMRA escapees.
#32
Point taken but just responding to your previous post at top of page which had nothing to do the beer bargains that I could see anyway

Just thought that grahamclive was getting too much unfair flack

ok lets stick to beer bargains now then
#33
having paid £3.50:x for a pint at a gig last night 60 bottles for £20 notes seems quite a bargain:-D

no hangover? you should drink more then:giggle:
#36
im with graham as well, its that cheap for a reason....reason being its ****......yes its a bargain but you pay for what you get....id rather pay the extra to enjoy something that someone has taken time and actual effort to make. and if it is going to damage to my body at least ive enjoyed drinking it! not just because its cheap.

its opinions like this that is helping fuel the awful attitude people around my age have towards drinking nowadays like its a replacement for water or something.
#37
calm down, I think the :giggle: means he's joking

Im calm just think its a little irrisponisble its a fantastic beer deal in moderation, ive had close people die to alcohol related dieseases and it does my head in seeing comments like that. im sure you understand.

Support local / indigenous producers .... where do you live? Last time I looked Duvel and Leffe were produced in Belgium .... by the same brewer that makes Stella Artois (albeit at an international subsidiary)
