Although thats one of the worst reviews available for it, a better mean average can be found at http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/beijing2008?q=beijing%202008

Where it still only gets an overall average of 60% critics and 77% from punters, meant to be a pretty decent track & field type clone. No doubt about it though this game is button mashing, but any old skool gamers like myself can bring back nostalgia for such delights of Track & Field, Hypersports, the Epyxs Summer, Winter & World Games series and Daley Thompsons Decathlon.

Probably isn't worth shelling out £15 for (or even £13 with the PC World Price beat), but the demo can be downloaded on your Xbox providing you have a hard disk, try before you buy. Chances are however the longer away from the ferver created from the Beijing olympics and Comets aggressive price reductions, it won't be too long before we see this in the bins for a fiver which is an all together more attractive prospect for some old skool button mashing fun......

Downloading the demo....

I got this game last week. Put it in the console, and it crashed it, then when it ran it was really slow. This game is rather slow.
#8
it's a button basher. Those with good wrists should get gold.

Or use the old ps1 trick, get a battery or something and rub it across the buttons!!! break every record!!!

I never heard of that trick, which battery works best?! 9V PP3 lol?
#11
LOL, AA! still track & field will always be a classic!

It's well worth £15, great to play with friends and good online also (although can be a bit laggy).

There are loads of events, and most of them are really good, but as mentioned some have really stupid controls which makes them basically unplayable. It's only obscure events which have silly controls.

One great thing about the game is you can hammer the buttons or waggle a stick which is good if you are useless at hammering buttons like me!

I got this game! its a great game. I thought it was worth the £30 I paid, its well worth £15

Its especially good when you pile back from the pub with a bunch of mates then do a random selection of events I think theres over 30 to choose from, the archery, cycling and 1500mtrs are really good.

If you liked Daley Thompsons Decathlon, Hyper Sports or Track & Field then you will love this, the graphics are awesome!

(p.s. my technique for the 100ms is putting my index finger and thumb nails together then put them between the X and O buttons then make a fast side to side motion till your hand becomes a blur, they call me the bullet!)
#14
Definitely worth it for £15, especially if you have a few mates.

Online works quite well, but as previously said, can be a bit slow. And also some sports I can't work the controls - judo?!?

The track and field events are all pretty good, and the shooting / archery are also pretty good.

Beware though: I do have a blister on my hand from cycling last night!

Seems a great price, voted hot....

If the PS3 version was £15 I'd have taken a punt on it... fingers crossed it drops by a fiver in the next week or so...

Can I say that if you want to get this with the PC World price promise by phone - they will charge you delivery. I just rang them and they said if you want it delivered then they have to take in to consideration Comets delivery charge, which worked out to be a total of £17 something for game and p&p. I told them that was a bit of a con seeing as PC World offer free delivery on their website...
Best to get them to price match in your local store providing Comet also have it in stock!

Reserved mine... gonna get it 2moro...
#20
Might go PC World with my reservation and get them to price match... get it for £12.69
