Why am I strangely adverse to Bluetooth?

Sounded great until I read the Amazon reviews. I often take them with a pinch of salt especially the negative outlyers but on this occasion it seems to be (almost?) universal disapproval regarding range & quality.

These are great, I have one in the back of my surround sound so I can play music from my phone or PC to it. Works perfect.

But voted cold as it's £17.75 from my memory via amazon and I paid £17.50 last week

Sadly my Yamaha AV Receiver doesn't have 3.5mm stereo input at the rear for sound

Laterally speaking you have got me thinking about connecting my Ipad2 to my car bluetooth for music rather than phone calls, will investigate tomorrow

I have one of these in that back of my Yamaha rxv567, works perfect although I dont find the quality very good, that's coming from a HTC Desire, so could be the phone I support.
I tried to connect my PC to it and was told the device was not recognized (Any tips on this?)
