Photo compression
Blubox is a quick and easy-to-use photo compressor which allows you to share and store digital photos more easily. Blubox uses state of the art image compression algorithms to compress your photos by upto 90% in an efficient Blubox archive file - similar to zipping but with specialized support for image formats like JPEG and TIFF.

State of the art compression Using
Blubox you can compress photos by up to 95% without affecting pixel count or visual image quality using the very latest image compression techniques. Fantastic results are possible - even with pre-compressed formats like JPEG and PNG more>>

Improve your upload experience
One of the most frustrating things about using online backup and sharing services is the painfully slow upload experience. Using Blubox to compress your photo albums first can speed things up considerably and will make the most of your online space.

Email entire albums
Sharing multiple, full resolution photos by email is now practical. You can send up to 20 full sized pictures, compressed inside a Blubox archive in the time it takes to send a couple of uncompressed photos!

Preview and Slideshow
Unlike most Zip tools, Blubox includes a fully featured Preview and Slideshow feature - so there's no need to extract your pictures to view them. If you do need to work with the original files simply drag them out of the archive to extract them back to their original format.

Works directly in Windows
There's no need to launch the full program to create archives or automatically email them. Simply select some files, right-click and choose to add to a new archive or automatically compress and email.

Keep your data safe
Blubox makes it easy to protect your pictures when sending over the Internet by using a powerful AES encryption algorithm. Just add a password when you create an archive and it can only be opened by the intended recipient.

Organising your stuff and backing up
Blubox archives are perfect for organising your photo collection before backing up to a local disk drive or with an online backup service. You can keep your folder structures intact inside the archive and add comments and tags.

Free viewer
The Blubox Viewer is easy to download and completely free so your friends and family can open, view and extract the files you share with them.

I have this router and although I find it pretty good I have just found out that it doesn't have a gigabit connection. Prob won't affect most people choice but thought i'd mention it.
#2
Can this be setup as a wireless bridge too?
#3
Good price for a branded router, however scan are doing and edimax wireless N router for £31.70 which has a 2 year warranty also
#4
300Mbps is pointless if you're only using it for internet use.

The range if these things is far superior to G routers.

The spec on the link suggests this is 150Mbps not the full 300Mbps.

Probable a really stupid question, but can I use this to replace my Orange Livebox as the signal strength on it is useless and it will not cover all of my house.

That's the precise reason i'm buying it to replace my O2 (thomson) box.

But the answer for Orange appears to be yes

anything can be better than a o2 router my mates got the cable version of this and seems to be working quite well

Brilliant product, thanks for the info...
#14
I think the title should be changed to Modem/Router....as this is more important than just mentioning that its a router! If it was just a wireless router, it would not be such a good deal.

BTW, I have this product (bought it last week), and have had no problems so far...although it appears a bit fiddly to set up port forwarding by having to use a static ip.
#15
I have also found Belkin products very good and they are based in the UK. Their warranty is normally 2 years or more and some products have lifetime warranties. Not sure what the warranty is on this one.
Heat given for the company!
#16
does this defiantely have gigabit lan? specs listed in OP say yes, manual says no

edit - does anyone know what the warranty is like on these as well?
#17
I noticed the USB N adapters are cheap now £10 on ebuyer!

Sky aren't too happy allowing you to use your own equipment. It's in their T&Cs that you have to use the supplied equipment. There are, however, sites that detail how to generate the necessary ADSL login details.

SKY lock their routers so they only work on your broadband line with the settings set.

You can't configure a different router because Sky won't tell you the username or password.

There are firmware hacks to be found via Google though.

edit: looks like someone has already told you this ^

It does day ADSL in the title so I thought it would be obvious.

To be honest, I can't remember....I'll check tonight when I get home.

I have had one for about a year... Never had any issues with it with general usage. Mine said it had a liefetime guarentee. 2 friends have had belikn routers and they failed after the first year... both times, either a quick call or registered fault on Belkin's website and the router was replaced within a week. Very good service (even if the Belkin guy was in India).

A

As you said, according to the user manual it has a 10/100 4 port switch so no Gigabit as stated above.
I think it is only their top end modem/routers or routers only, have the GigE..
#30
Looks like they are all gone....

#37
hey guys, can someone answer me this. i have virgin media with a netgear wireless g router, my pc has a wireless n adapter and my xbox 360 has a wireless n adapter. if i got this, would windows media player on my xbox go faster, its slow unless i hard wire it to pc which sorts of defeats the object of wireless

cheers in advance:thumbsup:
#38
Surely you cant go wrong for a wireless N modem/router....
These are still selling for £50 + on fleabay and you wont get any backup support or returns if you need to.
I've ordered one as the general reviews are very good.
There's always gonna be some negative reviews, but usually these are from people who haven't got a clue on setting stuff up..
This will be ideal for streaming HD content too....so good for the future, until something new comes along!
Thanks OP...good spot. Heat and rep added...
#39
Looking forward this modem works on Windows 7 should do I think?.
