Nice price for a belkin, would order but I already have 3 routers and don't need a 4th! If your in the market for one though this is probably the best to go for.
#5
Good price but awful customer reviews over at amazon, do your homework before diving in!

Just grabbed the ADSL one too, but what are my chances of getting my first order cancelled??

Had one of these a few months ago. I couldn't connect to Xbox Live. When I did eventually manage it, I used to get disconnected regularly. Sent it back in the end.

hi guys, would this router work with my 3 year old dell vostro 1500,and it would replace the router that virgin media sent me. so would it be suitable for me. why is it called a cable router aswell, arent they supposed to be wireless?

its caled cable as its for cable connection e.g virgin media. Ive brought this as i figure it must be better than the ****** one vm provide,

That voucher code doesn't work at 5am even though it's still the 28th, booooo.
#27
You should take these online reveiws with a pinch of salt. Wireless technology is regulated so buying one router over another will not increase signal strength.

The chipset being compatible with your local exchange DSLAM is more important so there are less drop outs for increased sync speed and for the average user they will not consider using the advanced settings and parental controls.

Why would you connect an N wireless base station with 300 Mbit/s via 100Base-T (100 Mbit/s)? I cannot possibly use the available bandwidth (even given that N rarely reaches it anyway).

And in other places this model is called a "Draft N" device. So what it is? Did they just delete the word "Draft"?

it used to be 'draft n' before the standard was universally approved, when it lost the 'n' ! that's it..

Does anyone have a new 99p shipping code?

Beware I bought Belkin Router few months ago and was the biggest pile of crap ever!

DHCP didnt work properly
uPnP didnt work properly
localhost isn't support
Xbox Live didnt work properly it was a bitch to setup for a single Xbox and we have 2 which was a total nightmare to get working
PS3 was also a bitch to setup
Plus lots of other basic stuff

and if you try to speak to their support its all in India and they just ask you basically to switch it on and off! I knew far more than anyone I ever spoke to in their support
#32
As with all of these cheap Wireless N routers etc, you end up disabling the 'N' part (300mbps) and just using standard G (54mpbs) because thats what causes the locks out (interference from other devices as the N technology transmits that much further). So, might as well not bother. The only boxes I've found to work well are the Netgear N Access Points/Routers etc and they are £80+. Just speaking from experience. So, I would save your money or buy something a bit more expensive........

I setup one of these for my nephew. its wired to main PC, then via wire less on a laptop, PSP PS3 & my laptop for whenever I visit. I never setup a router before this & found it super eazy.

If you can't manage it I'd put it down to user error or damaged goods, but its not somehow evidence that all Belkin routers are flawed.

Trouble is without knowing which one you bought as Belkin make more than 50 (at least) and the blanket you have thrown over does not cover all of them. So not all of them will work or not work

Belkin are actually one of the most common in say the last 2 years for having a version of Upnp which does actually work 98% of the time and allows them to bypass the rule of 1 port to pass per internal ip.

DHCP enabled, Upnp enabled, no portforwarding setup, no virtual servers, no mac adress filtering no IP being placed in the DMz will give on Belkins recent routers/modems etc give a NAT of OPEN on 1 xbox (Nat type 2 on Ps3) (same thing) and generally an OPEN Status for 2 xbox 360's and nat type 2 for 2x PS3

That could be your line has had it, syncing to high then simply dropping when falling below 6db and then rebooting to lower sync.

Could also be overheating keep well ventilated
