Hmm... Thanks for the info ninegt :)

That does reflect badly on them. I guess that's why they're so cheap.

Just to counter the bad reviews, I got one of these when they were <£20 from ebuyer a few months ago and it performs perfectly. Provides over 5mins power, plenty of time for an orderly shutdown. Has been worth the cost already because of the protection it provided against power surges/outages during the recent thunderstorms, another unconnected PC crashed whilst the connected one did not as the battery power came on. Have had no problems with the software on my XP Pro system. Recommended.

Thanks for the feedback PNE :) Maybe it's not that bad after all! Pleased it works for you. I remember that eBuyer deal, but was it the exact same UPS model?
#7
I think so Ray..

That's the same model, now in ebuyer for £35+

I would think it's generally a good price for this then, if it's not going to be coping with more than the 210w load?

I've got the 500VA version of this - they're not bad. You have a USB connection, so the PC gets told when power is out, and can be set to shutdown if needed.

Thanks for the feedback arfster. A good point is that these are meant for just that, to give your PC time to shutdown safely.
