HOT!! ...how do you add heat bw??? i new to this. Just ordered 5 to sell on ebay

Great price. Just bear in mind folks, that these things are not powered and no option to attach any external power adapter, so you cannot run anything bus-powered off them like portable drives. It is just a prettier alternative to your bog standard unpowered usb hub.

Isn't it £8.28 delivered?

Delivery appears to be £2.29(inc VAT) -or am I missing something?
#5
Sorry,

i think you are wrong. Spec says two ports can be run without power but to run 4 you need the power - so it must be powered as an option.

Yesterday postage was nil... maybe its gone up

Perfect for those with a Mac Mini, fits in with the whole look. But for those without Mac Minis, you can possibly find cheaper USB hubs elsewhere.

poundland.. for a pound.. These things with all wires normally tuck away, and the poundland one is USB2.0 and smaller...

I've boycotted Belkin products as they've been caught offering money for fake positive reviews of their products.

'Connects up to 2 devices without a power adapter'

so really you only gain one more port without power supply and if you use anything that's a bit power hungry you can't don't gain any.

nice idea though but know with my Mini it will need power all the time

Don't believe the specs. I have one of these with the two firewire ports as well and the reason it says you can run two ports is that you can pass through directly to one of the usb ports on your Mac Mini. The problem is if you attach more than one usb device this will grab some of the bus bandwidth and also divert power away. There is no port on the actual pad to attach a power adapter, so your actual devices need to be powered to work.

Try attaching an iPod shuffle, for instance. Could never get it to work properly because of the hub resistance overhead.

Handy if you've an airport extreme to network additional drives, printers etc.
#16
sorry, but why is a sub-standard 4-port USB hub getting so hot? :?

Plenty of alternatives around, although maybe not white!
#17
cold, £6 for a 2 port hub simply isn't a deal

Because it's a perfect stackable match for a mac mini. Yes, other chinese made hubs are cheaper by a couple of quid.

Anyone have any news on when a new mac mini will arrive? The current spec is over a year old...
#21
Thanks, got one for my Airport Extreme!
#22
Going to have to vote cold, a couple of years back I bought the 4 port one that also had firewire on from Dixons for about the same price, and that could function as a powered hub thanks to firewire, though it wasn't without fault.

On the plus side, with either model you should be able to get away with 4 low power devices (like joypads) without needing an extra power source.

Not that that was an amazing product either, i have to say there's a horrendous whine when firewire is connected.

Had a nightmare dealing with this company, would never buy from them again!
