Their two different standards.

You have a modem & router whereas this is just the router (for people who use cable modems this is ideal..... or if you wish to plug your non wireless modem into it & make it wireless)

Wow, thats specific

Had the FD5730 and the WLAN always fell on it. Waiting for a more affordable gigabit wired and n router as no point upgrading to something which will be obsolete in the near future.
Good price though so hot

you have an ADSL Modem Router in the F5D7632-4

for Virgin you need a CABLE Modem Router.

this is where a large part of your problem may be.

thanks

thank you so much everyone for your help on this matter can stop tearing my hair out now hehehe :thumbsup::thumbsup:

So this is really only for cable and people with fixed modems.
#20
Yes, like most wireless routers, it doesn't come with a built-in modem suitable for use on ADSL or cable. You'll still need your original ADSL or cable modem and connect this behind it in order to get wireless internet access working.

the wireless stops working on mine and needs rebooting daily. I already had trouble with belkin kit but thought id try it again. Never again :/

I bought this to use mainly with my ipod touch, netbook and phone. When first plugged in it was ok, but the connection was a bit stuttery (noticed it with downloads and streaming video mainly), but i updated to the latest firmware and after a week i can even notice my main home PC connection (Virgin Cable) which is wired from the router is a lot more stable than it used to be before i had the router (although why it should be i don't know, maybe just a coincidence), and the speed i get is excellent on all 3 of my gadgets.
So after the easy upgrade of the firmware (takes 5mins and no skill) this was an excellent buy!

So very happy for such a cheap router!
