That's what I thought. It's almost certainly going to make the fan kick in more often.

I have one of these and heat does tend to build up more quickly.

Perhaps they could design one with a hard surface instead of a fabric one

Each to their own and it isn't expensive, but ...I don't really understand the point of it? It seems like something somebody invented to solve a problem which doesn't exist...? I don't need to prop up my laptop because my laptop can - if necessary - rest on my lap... the top of my lap in fact... and I don't need a storage pocket for the power cord and mouse because it is a laptop... and has a battery and a touch-mouse-pad-thing...

If anyone has problems with their laptop overheating on this, I could sell you some ice-packs wrapped and branded to look like a must-have accessory to stuff into the hole in the middle of this... a knock down price of £9.99 (my RRP is £99.99, so a hot deal)

This helps to keep the bolts in the computer warm but keep your nuts cooler. :whistling:

Men who use laptops without the aid of a table or cushion don't become fathers and I don't mean that they're playing World of Warcraft.
#15
good deal. I still haven't received the 2 I ordered from Dell! Keeps getting "delayed", unbelievable !
#16
Bought one of these and used it about 2 times. Good if you use it like but waste of money for me.
#17
Heat added. These are great. They prevent the old dangly bits gettting overheated but equally importantly they make using the laptop more ergonomic (especially for teenagers who slouch around You Tubing or whatever)

SSSwweet. Just ordered. Have some heat.

I got it already. Bought it from play a while ago was about 14 pounds. Good deal, heat added.

Vs a table/desk surface, yes. Vs a couch/bed/lap (I've seen a lot of people do all of these!), no, it won't be any worse.

I don't know why they don't just make the top surface the laptop sits on flat, hard rubber to grip the laptop and stop heat build-up :whistling:

I used to use mine on my bed on a plank of wood a bit bigger than my laptop. Worked perfectly but was a bit uncomfy! If the bottom was cushioned that would have been perfect. A bit of card/MDF on top could be prefect for these.

i payed 19.99 for one of these from staples so this is a bargin voted hot

I Bought one from Dell when it was dirt cheap, and I dont regret anything more than that. I really cannot see the point of it. It doesnt make it easier or more comfortable in any position that I can see. So unless you know what you need it for - AvOiD.

I have one and its the best thing i ever bought

I just received mine (bought for £12.99 last week!) and realised that you shouldn't put the power charger inside the case whilst charging.. gets VERY hot!

Just as another idea...people are saying about it overheating..well, you could always buy a USB laptop cooling tray to slip between this cushion and the laptop - i have one under mine at all times as the fans draw the heat away from the laptop and stops it getting mega hot...plus they are very thin nowadays and so not so obtrusive as they used to be, i hardly notice mine under my lappy!!
#33
£12.99 now, unles I'm missing something.
#34
My son has this and his laptop certainly does not overheat and he uses it all the time.
#35
I use this all the time and have never heard the fans work overtime on my laptop. The fabric is very firm and rigid. Therefore it is the same as resting your laptop on a hard surface, albeit a fabric one. It is not as ideal as a glass or wooden surface but it's a perfect compromise when sat on your lap as the fabric is very grippy so the laptop does not move or slide anywhere.
#36
Check your local Staples - they have been clearing these for £9.99 in store.

Stupidly I didnt think of that. I've now found a use for my A-Level computing textbook.

I was getting worried about having my laptop on my lap too long, started moving it further towards my legs / knees due to the heat and possible radiation - not good for your....
