The CushTop provides increased padded comfort when using your laptop on your couch, bed or floor. A convenient storage pocket keeps your power adapter and mouse tucked away. By flipping its platform over, the CushTop can accommodate small or large laptops.

was just looking for something like this - thanks

Careful with any laptop that dissipates heat from underneath. It does stop heat dissipating. My proof is experience of having to replace a laptop HD after using this.

yeah heard bad things about these

Anyone who has problems with laptops overheating on one of these obviously has a problem with the laptop and not the cushtop! If you can't place a laptop on a hard surface (like the cushtops) then how are you supposed to use it?! The cushtop doesn't block any vents, and doesn't make laptops overheat! If it did so would every other hard surface.

I've had 2 for about a year, and use them with a Toshiba and HP laptop which both use bottom vents, and have never had problems, they're great!

I have no problem with the laptop, I had problems with the cushtop :thumbsup:. The laptop in question before the cushtop sat on a wooden desk for 2 years and now with the new HD sits on the same wooden desk. Had no problems before or after and its now 4 years old!

From my experience the surface is not 'hard' it has some 'give' i.e you cannot compare it to a wooden surface, plastic, metal or glass surface, it's nowhere near as hard due to the material used - i.e foam and fabric. For my newer macbook pro I have a belkin stand which is hard - it is plastic and that does allow heat dissipation, no problems with that!

In light of the 'deal' rather than the product play have sold it at £9.99 before as thats when I bought the one I had which was light grey and orange.

Good price, but as my lappy dissipates heat from underneath I had a problem with this product. I have now resolved the problem by using something like this where the top is a hard surface and the underneath is still a soft cushion.

I can't comment on this specific model, but if you don't like the Belkin one, I have two of these at home and think they're ace;

You can probably find them cheaper elsewhere though.

Really late reply, but couldn't help myself!

Just because your laptops HDD went corrupt whilst using the Cushtop, doesn't mean that it was the Cushtop which caused the problem! Nearly all laptops dissipate heat from the bottom, and the Cushtop DOES have a solid surface, it's hardly any different to wood, it doesn't bend, or let anything sink into it without great force. The feet on the bottom of your laptop should keep a gap between the cushtop and the case to allow air to circulate, if there's no gap then its a flaw in your laptop (short/no legs) or an extremely faulty cushtop which has gone soft for some reason or other. If there is a gap then the overheating is nothing to do with the cushtop.

The foam and cover is made to keep cool, it doesn't absorb the heat from the laptop, it keeps the surrounding air cool and stops the laptop from holding the heat. I can have my laptop on it for hours, all day and the cushtop still isn't anywhere near hot, and the laptop isn't any hotter than it would be on a table.

I know I sound like a rep for Belkin, but honestly it just really pees me off that these posts come up every time a Belkin Cushtop appears on here... IT IS NOT THE CUSHTOP... blame your laptop for being faulty or having a silly design! Look at the word: laptop... if you can't sit your laptop on a Cushtop without it overheating there is no way in hells chance you can keep your laptop on your LAP!

I've purchased 3 of these as presents for other people, and they swear by them! I really don't know what you people do to make your laptops overheat, but it's not down to the cushtop!

*sigh*
