I use a tray for the one laptop and a box for this one, the box is what it came in.

I will now be ordering 2 of the above as I have been looking out for some thing more suitable.

Thanks

Cracking idea and great price. I think Argos charge £25 for the same thing

my laptop generates a lot of heat acer aspire 1672lmi and the charger gets rather hot and makes a strange buzzing noise, its was bought dec 2004 and with 1yr warranty

Excellent, have ordered one as well.

look neat but I use a Targus Coolpad as that gives clearance underneath my laptop for cooling. That crushtop looks like it won't allow any air circulation underneath your laptop so expect your fans to kick in more often!

Thanks. I've been thinking about buying one of these, but always thought they were too expensive. Going now for a silver / grey one.

would these be okay for laptops with hot power adaptors or ones that get real hott ?

cheers edi will do for a present :)

Doesn't this stop the fan blowing hot air out through the bottom or do new laptops not do this anymore? or is the cushion stiff enough to support the laptop to allow an air gap?

Suppress more than likely make it worse and probably cause your laptop to shut down, I would take it apart and clear out the exhaust slots from dust.

If it gets hot from using a lap tray (which is like having it on a table) then you've got no hope at all unless you buy one of these laptop coolers.

PC World have these for £29.99!

Full credit to original poster (edi).

Item ordered & "heat" added.

Thanks.

PS. I have a cooling gel mat (bought from a seller on eBay), but my partner wants one of these Belkin CushTops [I just wasn't prepared to pay £29.99 for it].

I was just going to post about this. I was looking to buy one of these but as I understand it, there is some 'give' in the cushion so they are not suitable for laptops that have airvents on the bottom as they can be blocked. Also, the hole in the middle isn't that large so your mouse/powersupply might not fit.

Having said that, if neither of these things is a problem, it's a great product by all accounts. :)

Is the laptop included? :giggle:

Doesn't look too difficult to make - good idea. But for those who want an alternative to both why not try Belkin's Sleevetop http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/3385027/Belkin-SleeveTop-15-Notebook-Carrying-Case-Silver/Product.html also seen on Play.

I've had two of those coolers (from different eBay sellers) & both have failed after a few months usage. Hence why I then went for a cooling gel mat.

a good price but the design from what i can see isnt good, there is no circulation for the laptop(which means overheat and then dmg the laptop, and make it shutdown @ around 70 degrees C) and putting the adaptor in a small/tight foam compartment=no. can some1 prove me wrong? as it does seem a good price, but im sure you can get a coolerpad(with fans and a base) for around £20(not for a fact, dont quote me)

No but that is why I got it. My laptop runs a bit hot. Just tossing it in as a different option for people to consider if they are shopping this type of solution. I use it everyday. It can also be a side table since the table tilts and un-tilts easily.

thanks for the deal, my dell laptop gets hot underneath pretty quick, with it having the 9cell beast battery. plus in my room i dont have much flat space so often end up using it on my bed. it heats up real quick. can someone tell me if this would be just as bad? or if you have the same issues, what u use instead... other than that big stand which is a bit odd
#38
I have a silver unit bought from Lakeland about 2 years ago. It has fold out legs for elevation and a built in USB fan. Excellent bit of kit, but not now in Lakelands catalogue. Does anyone know if they still sell them? It cost about£23.

These point go for my laptop too
i need a stand that i can use on the bed
that i can see laptop with when laying flat
and use an usb normal keyboard
i need something that will give air space as well no noise fans
even a maton top would that work

I just use my incase sleeve underneath my macbook every time I use it. No man should put a laptop on his lap without protection!

This is an excellent price, but I personally wouldn't buy it.
