That must be a problem with your laptop rather than this product, it's no different to placing it on any other flat surface, and a lot cooler than your lap......

beware my lap overheated when using this product...............

because it soooooooo hot!

i wanted to buy ths before but seeing the reviews (some people said it over heated some said it kept the lappy cool) on play.com i decided not to. plus its not a portable item and i wouldnt use it very often. its a nice idea but not perfect.

Best avoided as laptop slid of mine and hit the floor.

Balls, the thing is angled towards you, you must have been a bit of a numpty to make that happen, if indeed it happened at all

I bought my son one of these a while ago and he has had no problem with his laptop overheating or sliding off, its great.
#8
Was skeptical until I used one. (In fact, I'm hammering away on one at the moment, but that's another story.)

When using the laptop sat in front of the telly it raises the screen to a more comfortable height.

Word of warning though: it's probably no good with a desktop!

Yes my laptop overheated, then fell off hit the side of my jetski and went underwater hit a diver and eltrocuted a fish. So must be a bad product :/
Agree it cant be that hard to use :)
#10
Not buying because i don't have a laptop

^ about as helpful as most posts so far lol... how the hell did it fall off ???
#11
i had been looking at these for months at around £30 until the last play.com deal with the same price, grabbed one, and i truly love it. i have multiple laptops, sure a couple slip off, but the problem is that the rubber feet on them not the cushtop. the others stay on firmly.

i like being able to pick the cushop up with the laptop on and move it round easily.

I was thinking about getting one but I'm worried as I can scuba dive and I have fish. Maybe I'll pass on this and save for a jetski instead:-D

Saw one of these in House of Fraiser a while ago for around £20 (I think).

For use at home they looked quite good, and a good place to keep your laptop too!

BTW, they are quite big so should be ok for a larger laptop....

Gonna go for this I think. Heat added

are you able to buy just the burnt orange on it's own or is it part of a package deal?

Would have been interested in one of these, but not when I saw who was selling it. STAY AWAY FROM PLAY.COM - they are positively awful! Standard procedure - see a 'hot' deal, make an order, and then get an email saying 'awaiting stock'... A month later they cancel your order and just say tough sh*t. But of course now they have your email address and will spam you to death with offers that AIN'T so hot. And that's if you're LUCKY!

I had an email from them on 1st July saying my order was on its way. Somewhat confused - I didn't HAVE an order with them. Logging in to my account to check, I found they'd despatched GTA3 that I'd ordered from them, as it was now in stock. Only thing is the actual order date - 1st July 2007. They'd sent an order exactly TWO YEARS to the day after it had been ordered, and when I phoned to complain, they got all stroppy about it! Unbelievable. Buy your stuff somewhere else - you don't hate yourself enough to deal with Play.com

That's odd. I've always found Play one of the better e-tailers. I've used them for years and never had a problem. recently, I removed myself (rather easily too) from their mail-shot.

I'm a sucker for their deals too (especially, it seems, their T-shirts)
#19
For balance I thought I would add that I have been buying from Play for many years now, orders from £1 to £100 and never had any problems at all.
A couple of times I have had misprices not honoured but never expected them to be :)
Hope that was helpful

I've got one of these. It's true what they say - if you place this on your head and sing about angles and mice it does heat up your IT sticks. Also, it's very easy to slip off this stand if you stand on it after a drink or two - don't whatever you do spin around on it after a drink - it's a stupid game anyway.

Hot vote from me.

Well, you've obviously been luckier than me. My account history with them shows seven items ordered, six cancelled by Play as either misprices or no stock likely to come, and one item 'delivered' after a very modest wait of seven hundred and thirty days (a mere 700 days longer than the DSR gives them to honour an order or cancel it).

I've had similar problems as you mate. Not quite as bad as you though. A two year wait for an order!? :? Has to be a record :p

I do still order when deals are to good to pass up though. Still very hit and miss :-(

I always buy from Play and not once had a problem. Infact quite the opposite. One of the most reliable and fast delivery ive ever used.

I second that. Bought loads from them and never a problem.

Are the problems from Play.com themselves and not the Fairtrade sellers?

got my 13 year old daughter one of these last year, its great she keepsher lap top on it all the time, on the bed, her lap even on the desk, never slid off, she even carries it around on it (from upstairs to down stairs) would really recommend

Bought one of these 9 months back from Play.

2 sides, one for 15" laptops the other for 17" ones. i've got a 17" laptop and the cushtop worked great for the first 6 months, but then my laptop started over heating, on closer inspection the small rubber feet of my laptop had slowly sunk into the cushioned layer of the cushtop, so there's now no space between this layer and the bottom of the laptop, hence the laptop fans not being able to push air out.
its a bit useless now, the top layer needs to be harder, may work better on lighter 15" laptops

I have this product. To be honest I think it is pretty crap. It is too big in height and looks like it was made for a spazoid (seriously). It does not keep lappy cool but just stops the heat from your body being transfered, meanwhile your laps become hot because the thick design traps the heat. I just dont understand why they had to build it so thick they could easily make it thinner and reinforce the shell. Hence I rarely use mine. You could get the same results from using a phone book and save a tenner.

No 'stories', just facts. Happy to upload jpeg's of the order for any doubters. I've now complained to my credit card company that my card was fraudulently used and am waiting to hear back from them.

Purchased one the last time posted on here.very satisfied. How the devil a laptop can overheat when using the "Cush Top" I do not know. Also no hint of Laptop sliding off the sloping surface. Very good price, especially with "Free Delivery". Voted Hot once again.

debate wether the product is good for u has come up before, there were even post about the wi-fi being too close to ure balls!!

its over half the original deal, so its pretty hot in terms or RRP reduction.

on another note, never really had big problems with Play before. I've had orders cancelled, wrong items sent etc.. but its a rarity and they always been able to resolve the matter quickly.
