Thanks OP, I was only just thinking about these the other day as my mother in law to be has just got herself a new laptop. This will make an ideal Mothers day pressie. Heat & Rep.
#7
Heat added. Are these comfortable? Do they sit flush on your legs?
#8
very comfortable, im using one whilst i type right now.

What are these like for overheating? I've got an HP P.O.S. (note: not actual model number) and it's overheated to the point that after a year the DVD drive and one USB port no longer work, and the glue holding the rubber 'feet' in melted and they fell out - just from using it on my lap...

These are fantastic paid £11.99 for mine and have ordered one now for my grandaughter.

Is Play on quidco?

These are fine for netbooks or laptops with tall feet. Because cushtops are made of firm foam, they do allow the feet of laptops to sink in somewhat. So if your laptop is heavy, you can expect the amount clearance between the cushtop and laptop to shrink. This is not good for laptops as they tend to get warm/ hot anyway.

I've got one and it's fine for my AAO, but not my mum's 15.4" laptop.

click the £1 link on the first post (at the bottom where there is a list of voucher codes)

You need to sign up to a forum and then claim the £1.

Just ordered mine for £8.99 took 2-3 mins to sign up to the forum and activate the link and then order with play.

It's worth pointing out the comments made. If your vents are on the bottom, most are, this will cook the insides. Are peoples legs so pained by their laptops?

Yes it is, mines tracked at a massive 5p lol

I use one of these every day and it stops the heat between lap and laptop getting too much. I've been using it for over a year and my laptop has never overheated. To correct a previous poster, the foam is firm/solid not soft and unless you have an unusually heavy laptop, the feet will not sink into it at all.

I had this problem so ended up getting a bean bag cushion tray (like - item number 150420734728 on auction place). Worked out much better for me as the hardest part was getting a non girly one (ie most are florally).

nice, been toying with buying one of these for a while!

Been waiting and waitingt o get one... now ordered .... watch it drop to a fiver now

I use a CushDesk myself, a slightly different design. The ridge is useful as it holds your larger laptop in place and stops it sliding. It's not as elevated as the CushTop which I find makes gives better ergonomics as it stops you lifting or bending your wrists from the home position.
I use it with my Macbook Pro as it's very smooth and gets seriously toasty on the thighs!

I mean just look at how happy she is using it, that could be you!

Same opinion here - and if one did find one's laptop somehow sinking into the surface then do some DIY and say double-sided tape a firm sheet of something on the surface so those legs wouldn't don't sink in (make it the right size and once the laptop was on it you wouldn't see it underneath).

I have used one of these for my macbook pro over the last few years, saves scorching the tops of my legs off. heat added :)
#32
These are excellent, we have three in our household. Don't believe the b o l l o c k s posters who scaremonger about overheating - this simply isn't the case with this item - it is very firm cushioning material and your laptop will not overheat using this.
#33
will this be ok for a 10" netbook
