And before you ask, no, I've not had any prior thumb modelling experience, I'm just a natural!

Hence the need for display port
#9
Loads of them left in Poundland Aylesbury, if you're a Bucks-county-town-dwelling Kyler.
#10
plenty in Bristol broadmead

Hmm...

Might pick up 3 of these for my 3 screens.

Would ideally like 5m ones but they'll do!
#12
would store frequented by jerry springer fans have these too?

Unlucky.

Displayport has a data transfer rate of nearly double HDMI, allowing much higher refresh rate and/or resolution. Can also run 1080p over greater distances.

My local Waitrose was selling off all its displayport adapters and dongles at half rrp last week. Of course half rrp was still ridiculously overpriced for a product that's getting more 'niche' by the month.

HDMI very handy if you have a displayport monitor!

Unlike the poster, I don't watch Jeremy Kyle.
Does that mean I have to pay full price? :(
#17
Bargain, but most devices are MiniDisplay port.

Loads in Halifax today!

So does a single dual link DVI and HDMI 1.4, made me laugh when everyone poo poo'd VGA saying HDMI is so much better but in fact VGA is capable of much higher resolutions. They will tell the consumer any marketing nonsense to get people to buy new devices and spend a fortune on cables.

£1 is all that any Belkin product is worth. Never liked the brand, IMO.

The problem with VGA is that there are some very poor implementations which I've yet to see with the digital interfaces. So the digital ones seem to be easier to get right but VGA requires more care which isn't always there. A poor VGA input or output looks really bad regardless of what cable you use. Fortunately it seems to be not that common an issue.

Belkin is a quality brand that gives an almost lifetime warranty to almost every product they produce. I've never had a problem with any of their products.

DVI/HDMI only really came out because of Hollywood as they wanted to copy protect everything.

You can get display port to HDMI cables or converters, what are you using at the moment, DVI? if so then there is no need to use it.

I agree, generally belkin branded stuff is fair to good quality, I don't think I've ever had any complaints. Sometimes the drivers that come with their products are a bit dated, but you can usually download newer drivers off their site.

I don't rate their routers at all. Used to install consumer routers regularly and found them no more reliable than tplink dlink even unknown brands and harder to use plus less reliable than netgear.

But hot deal as not much to get wrong with a cable.

That's HDCP and is not mandatory for DVI which came out well before it anyway.

For the Belkin routers i've had which i've had a fair few, they're not perfect ( Occasional reset required every few months) but for the price I never complained. Rather cheap comparatively and again warranty is always there. But alas each to their own.
