this one has 3m cable but market seller @ amazon free shipping £5.32
I prefer the Belkin one with the on/off switch on the strip, that way I can click it with my foot when I shut the Pc down.
does it not have an individual switch for each socket?

probably not at this price range if you are looking for individual switches and surge protection.
Does anyone know of a good deal for one of these with individual swtiches for each socket?

yes me too
Anyone any idea where there is a 5m cable, preferably with 4 plugs?
FYI: There's also from TODAY a Lidl white 8x socket with surge protector (2 rows of 4 with the earths closest to each other) with a single on-off switch in today's offers at £7.99 with a 3m cable & 3yr warranty - picked one up earlier (though the banner/poster over the top had a DIFFERENT silverised one with phone ability for £9.99 which was nowhere to be seen).
Don't get hung up on "surge protection" - it will probably be absolutely minimal. After all, no figures are given for the size of surge it will protect against. Another thing you never knew you needed...
Yeah, not really worth paying for a surge protector unless you go for a Belkin with their insane guarantees.

these cheapy ones also seem to spark when plugging things in, or using the switch, which can't be safe.
They will all spark when plugging things in which have an inrush current - all computer-type equipment, plus everything else high powered basically. The larger the device, the larger will be the inrush current. This inrush current is nothing to do with the sort of "surge" that the liars in the marketing department claim they "protect against" - no amount of "surge protection" will make any difference whatsoever.

Any guarantees will also be about as effective as a chocolate teapot. You try claiming on one!
Good price heat added, bought from amazon
