I take it your car stereo hasn't got an aux input?

Just asking because my friend just got an ipod touch last week and wanted to use it in his car, so had a quick check in his car and luckily he has an aux input, so simply had to be an aux cable (which is just a 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack basically) and plug into the headphone socket of the ipod... works like a charm and the sound that comes out of the car speakers is excellent.

Just asking because the aux cable was only £2.79 delivered from amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001NXQR0K/ref=oss_product

If your car stereo doesn't have aux in however, then most likely it won't have bluetooth either, so yes you would be stuck with this type of connectivity... personally speaking though I would probably just get a different car stereo, decent-ish ones with aux in start at approx £60. Depends on how long you think you might keep the car for though I guess.

Yeah my radio has none of that fancy new stuff and if i spent £60 on a radio it would be worth more than my car.
I think its still of use for people who cant get a new radio, for example the inbuilt systems.

also those aux cables are in poundland :D

does it say anything about compatibility with the iphone 4?

This will charge your iphone, an aux cable alone wont! Good price for this!!

Just to clarify, I wasn't knocking this product at all... was just thinking in terms of future use really. My car stereo hasn't got auxilliary input either, but then again I don't have an ipod... luckily my car cd player also plays mp3 disks, has a USB connection and an SD card slot... but I do get annoyed with it a lot as when I want to change albums I have to press about 3 seperate buttons to get to the album listing then choose the album and press yet another different button to select it, LOL.... so that's the main reason I would get another car stereo with bluetooth etc built in really.
Then again this stereo I have now is about 4-5 years old and gone through 3 cars and is still going strong with no probs, and only cost me £50 too.

I had the Belkin hands free fm adapter and it did sort of work with the Iphone 4, you could hear the music and the calls on the car, but it did not work for the hands free, you could not talk or changing songs, etc, I had to put it on speaker on the phone if I wanted to talk.
SO for this one my guess would be that it should work as this is not hands free.
