These are very effective - even when you don't power the fan.
Ideal for using a laptop in bed where the vents would otherwise be blocked by your duvet.
It's a bit noisy if you need to use the fan but if extra cooling is neccessary, you'll have to deal with the noise.
I think I paid £20 for one about 6 months.

Is this only for notebooks, or can it be used for laptops as well? I saw the review in Play.com, and it was suggested that it was suitable for people with a notebook less than 12".

Looks a lot better than that wretched Ikea yellow plastic junk posted on here recently.

But a Notebook and a Laptop are the same (type of) thing. Small form notebooks are more commonly known as netbooks.

Bought one of these last time around, well worth it!

Got one of these a couple of months ago when posted at £4.99 for my son, wish I had got a couple more, they are very good at keeping the laptop cool and creating a better angle for typing.

Will this work with a 15.6" laptop then?

Its a piece of plastic with a cheap fan fitted, how the hell is this even worth £2. Wise up people think about what your paying. It no wonder Britain is constantly fleeced..

This one definitely gets the cold shoulder.:x

Laughs at the RRP:-D

Price now increased on play.com

I bought one of these at £4.99 in August. The fan now makes a grinding noise and i have opened it up and cant find a reason why.

It now is just used as a stand. Be warned the quality isnt great as ive read online that i wasnt the only one with this problem.

I thought a notebook and a laptop were exactly the same. As far as I remember it, they used to be called laptops but then some sort of regulation required them to be called notebooks instead as you aren't actually meant to use them on your lap.

Can be but might just go the same way, so for a fiver there's not much point throwing more money at it IMO
