This Belkin N+ ADSL Modem and router is fantastic, it has USB port, so you can attach flash drives, or usb external hard drives. Its at a great price and going by what else in on offer at the minute, is one of the best performers around, and believe me I've looked and tested! So if you want to move to wireless N, then this would be a great purchase.

I can confirm this has greater range than my linksys wag160, especially on G.

(Its super easy to set it up for running online gaming, a simple case of manually assigning xbox IP address, then adding that address into the belkins DMZ. )

So no good for 2 xbox 360's on live at same time then ?

Considering upgrading to a N router so I'll do some research but this looks quite good. The dmz bit is handy for me to make it easier for my ps3 which has worked better online since putting it in the dmz of my d-link router.

Heat added :)

Not sure about two xbox's, tho i wouldn't rule it out, as the router has many advanced user settings available also. I will give it a go myself and report my findings, give me a day or two to try it. I will manually assign IPs to both boxes, one will be put through DMZ and the other i'll try port opening!, although it may be possible that under auto it may assign 'OPEN' nats for both anyway, like some other routers i've tested. will report back soon.

just enable upnp and dhcp and then test. Both 360 must be connected signed into live at same time(2 different gamertags ) to test properly. [with no ip in dmz, no port forwarding rules set up for the ip assigned via dhcp]

Bascially that modem is the same as 5 others I have sitting here from belkin with an addition of the usb port

via dmz

I meant no 2 ips in dmz . 1 port per internal ip etc

Looks to be a good deal.
Whats the security setup like for attaching a usb drive to it? Can I limit access with a user name and password?
#6
that's the one thing it doesn't have, no security for any attached drives, there are 2 ways of accessing, through the browser, which is very easy to do if you know what your doing., no-one with very little computer knowledge or children would access it accidentally, requires exact browser address to access. Or with the drive management software which you install on each pc/laptop you wish to access it with. Simples

Sounds fine just the same. I'd hope I would be able to trust laptops I connect and would MAC filter anyone else from using the wireless.

Can now confirm that 2 xbox 360s will not have 2 open NATs, 1 open and 1 moderate is the best possible, that i could achieve, after much testing.

I don't understand how this hasn't become a hot deal, its wireless range is far exceeds nearly every other router out there!, And works like a charm. This is a seriously good deal lol
