N1 Wireless Networking Based on the 802.11n, N1 Wireless enables multiple receivers and transmitters to send and receive data through the air, using Intelligent MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) spatial multiplexing techniques. The smart-antenna technology builds upon the widely deployed 802.11g standard by greatly increasing speed, range and faster speeds up to 300Mbps.*

Providing greater range and faster speeds, N1 Wireless offers a quick and efficient way for people to distribute video, music, photos, and files among the networked computers in their home. The built-in Network Status Display shows the status of your network. The icons represent each component of your network and show you whether or not each device is working properly.

*NOTE: The standard transmission rate - 300Mbps ? is the physical data rate. Actual data throughput will be lower.

Connect your notebook to a wireless network to:
* Stream HD video
* Listen to digital music
* Play online games
* Transfer photos and home videos
* Shop online and surf the Web
* Email and chat
* Expand your wireless range

You hustle down to your nearest Curry's but as this is part of the DSG group you may face the following problems -

Not being able to find a member of staff because they're all out the back having a fag.

Staff who do their best not to make eye contact with you in case you ask a complicated question such as "how much is this?"

Staff trying to sell you a 3 year extended warranty for the set of 4 AA batteries you've just bought.

And if by chance your item goes wrong and you claim on the warranty you have as much chance of getting it fixed as Peter Mandelson being found in bed with 6 female call girls.

Computer most definetly say's NO.

Where Else Can I Buy

Good price, but you'll need some good luck to find one.

Bit of an oddity this one - I'm sure any laptop powerful/new enough to benefit from the speed of 802.11n is already going to have integrated wireless and possibly not have a PCMCIA slot (they aren't exactly discreet when sticking out of the side either)... still for the price it's pretty good if it helps someone...

Agreed, if you do want one then make sure you have a PCMCIA slot rather than the newer Expresscard slot. Physically from the outside they look the same (I know, I bought one for my old laptop only to find it wasn't a PCMCIA slot and had to send it back - didn't I feel foolish!)

These are better than USB ones though in that they are far less likely to be knocked out/broken.

The drivers for this model are awful, they didn't bother updating them since launch, I paid nearly 20x this a launch, I wish I took it back. Good find, Bad product.

So funny, so true, thanks :-D

Note the N1 card will only work with the N1 router to benefit from the speed and distance. If you try and use one of these with other wireless routers they will only work at 54Mbs but additionally you will not get the coverage in distance..... trust me I know !

why can't i find them on the site?

That's standard fare for most Belkin products :|

Belkin's N Range desktop cards do very well. bought a few.
#22
Probably a store specific item, where only a few are available.
#23
I Googled the item reference ( F5D8011uk) to try and discover if there were any Macintosh drivers for this card. (Not from Belkin, anyway.)

BUT, I did discover an Amazon UK merchant offering it at £5 + postage and seemingly several other similarly cheap sources.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000LBB4NK/hotukdeals-21
So it doesn't look as though this deal is terribly special -- there are other deals to be had on this same item.

And it may be worth noting that (in typical Belkin style) there are two incompatible versions of the F5D8011uk (they need different drivers).
Maybe the v2 (2xxx) is better than the v1 (1xxx).
